Quote from: tower912 on September 22, 2025, 12:11:03 PMRyder Cup week.  And I am unlikely to watch a moment, as I will be on a 3 day Northern Michigan color tour with my bride to celebrate being empty nesters.

Go, Golf!

I see the home team winning streak and how the course is being set up to the American specs... and I still think the Euros win.

But I don't care enough to actually watch.

Busy sports weekend coming up, with Ryder Cup, full slate of NFL and college football, and final days of MLB regular season.

I'm looking forward to the Ryder Cup.  I think Europe is the slight favorite.  Perhaps some of our guys will step up?

I'm counting on some of my guys stepping up. Rory, Fairway Jesus, Rose, etc.

EDIT:

The United States are currently -145 favorites at BetMGM. The majority of bets (58%) and dollars wagered (68%) are on America to win.

Halvor Egeland, a BetMGM trader manager, told Yahoo Sports. "I'd love to be patriotic, but it looks like the book will be cheering for Europe. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are taking the most action on top points scorer, to no surprise."

Sadly, those prices aren't that bad. And there's no way that'll stop people from enjoying themselves

I'm super pumped for this to start. I think the US wins but it's close

This is such horse sh!t

Every one of the guys that was asked (that I saw) said they were donating the extra $200k to charity. Are they suppose to say, no we don't want it? The PGA of America or whoever it is basically said they hadn't updated the original $200k amount since 1999 and now they've caught up to the times. People are exaggerating this so much

Also, I expect JT to have a huge week and for the rookies I'd say Henley cuz he'll be playing with Scottie a lot

I thought it was (poor form) when Woods and Duval were whining about it 20 + years ago.   One of the thing that made me a team Europe fan decades ago.

They brought it on themselves.  No sympathy for them.  Collectively, the last 30+ years of American golfers have been a bunch of out-of-touch, spoiled rich kids who think they're bigger than the game.  Very few are bigger than the game and worst yet, very few actually care about the game outside their narrow world.

I'm all for them making every $ they can and holding the PGA of America accountable but spare me they've been unfairly treated.

A lot of people talk about the red, white and blue (not you) and representing their country for free.  Very few actually do it.  And most of these American players expect OUR patriotism to be free and loud

No no no...they expect us to BUY our patriotism.

And really the only reason they are donating the extra to charity is because of the backlash.

You should be rooting for your country.  All of these guys whine except Spaun.

Sergio is an ass.  However,  'hit the ball Sergio'  also ticked me off and mitigated slightly my dislike of Garcia.   IJP  was a favorite.
