My 16 year old daughter tested positive this morning. Cold symptoms and minor fever. I haven't felt quite right for a couple of days, I have a pretty good sinus headache with lots of pressure but no outward symptoms. I'm guessing I probably have it as well.

Out my way, the State of Connecticut Department of Health just recommended COVID vaccines for all ages.  Governor was issuing an order for coverage by Health Insurance.

I did read last week that the chain pharmacies were requiring prescriptions but it depended on state laws.

Just had my annual checkup. My doctor suggested waiting until October to get my annual shots. No need for a prescription in Illinois. Why would you need a prescription that's wild.

My guess, based on my recollection of the context, is that he was doing the mental math of the vaccine's effectiveness window post-administration in relation to when flu season hits hardest.

It wasn't a big deal regarding waiting; he was trying to suggest the best timing.

He was much more adamant about my getting a camera stuck in my butt.

Yeah, after discussion with my GP, I, too, am going to wait until October and get both COVID and flu boosters at the same time.  Just trying to time the immunity boost with the inevitable wave.

Tower, sorry about your daughter. Hope she has a mild case. I flew yesterday to NYC, and the guy next to me kept sniffling, no idea if allergies or what...I did have my mask and put it on.
I have never generally gotten my flu/ Covid vaccines until October...I got the RSV two years ago, unclear to me if I should be getting another or not..(71 years of age).

A report �showing the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines that ‌was previously delayed by the head of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has now �been blocked from being published in �the agency's flagship scientific journal, the Washington ⁠Post reported on Wednesday.
