Ben Gold is one of two players on this roster who has been a quality D1 starter before. Everyone else hasn't.

Our frontcourt is hilariously better than our backcourt. Scoop dwellers will keep pounding the drum for a 7 foot 300 pound center. It is probably because they last played basketball before the three point line was invented.

Quote from: MUbiz on Today at 02:07:11 PMThis 100%. They played against the Philippines who have forwards that were 6'3" listed on their roster. The tallest player was listed as 6'9" I believe. Not exactly top level competition, but 11 boards is something to build on.

Then we're out of luck unless we play a few games against truly crappy bottom of the barrel programs like Dayton.

Quote from: BCHoopster on Today at 01:53:41 PMI expect Ross and Parham to have good years, Ben getting 11 boards is impressive, but then again not sure who he is playing against

At least Ben is playing games as opposed to an open practice. I believe this competition will benefit Ben more than summer practice.

For 11 rebounds, chances are he wasn't hanging out near the 3 pt line on defense due to having switched.

This explains things.

Yup im sure ben playing 6'3 players from the Philippines is 100% better then the talent at practice at mu.

If only there was something called the internet and Youtube where you could find things like highlight videos to see how big or athletic the guys Ben is playing against are.

They won by 8.  It's not like some of the U17 USA stuff where they're winning 125-31 against some kids who wouldn't start on Homestead's (shoutout dentists/Mequon) JV team.

So the MU team is better than all the teams Ben is competing against. So Shaka thought it was better for Ben  to play to inferior competition than stay in Milwaukee for practice.

I would say that my knowledge of fiba Asia is very limited. But yes, id hazard a guess at marquette being a better team then 95% of the teams there.

China, japan, maybe Australia? Anyone else even comes close?

(Insert FieldhouseFlyer color coated eight page fringe blog article why Dayton is only bottom fifth of the barrel)
