Cardinal Robert Prevost was just elected as the first American pope in history. And perhaps even more notably, he's also a Villanova alum.

Could this be a game-changer for the Big East?

SEC.  It just means more.
ACC.  ACComplish Greatness.
Big Ten. Dream Big.

Big East.  Basketball is our religion.   ;D

Very cool on many factors.  May God bless Pope Leo XIV.

Slick

He also grew up in Dolton, Il. (a South suburb of Chicago) and was part of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish.

Just widens the gap between Creighton and Marquette, imo

Did they get him in the portal? That's the only way you get someone who's any good.

Doubt it. He has his Doctorate from the Vatican, and lived in Peru as long as he lived in US., and is a citizen pf Peru, also. Could be a game changer for the Peruvian soccer team.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Was passing by Vatican when smoke came. Got as close as entrance. Leaving area was more problematic. Felt like we were in pamplona running w bulls

Cubs and Bears fan, as well.  Excellent choice.

Unfortunately, the Bulls are beyond saving.

I'd like it better if he was true to his roots and a Sox fan, but we get dissed again..

If he was a Sox fan, he would have taken the name of Jude-patron saint of hopeless cases.

Hangin at the AL:
Forum / Message board for all things related Marquette Basketball - recruiting, coaching, game strategy, etc.

Yet the Women's thread is in the Superbar. At least they can celebrate the vixen of the game over a drink.

Superbar:
What happens at the Superbar, stays at the Superbar.  This is the place to talk about anything non-bball related, like jobs, technology, food & drink on campus,  naked beer slide strategy, recent events, etc.

I guess women's basketball must be a video/computer game.

Who knows. Maybe Pope Leo will be our next men's basketball coach.

No. He hasn't been a Cardinal for awhile now.
