Well done, young man.

Defense will always be an issue for TK, and that goes double when playing for Thibs. In college, he had good instincts for deflections and enough intelligence to usually handle his assignment. In the NBA, they hunt out inferior 1-on-1 defenders and prey on them.

It's doubtful that gets much better for TK, so the main way he can overcome that to get more PT is to be so damn good on offense that his coach needs to play him anyway. As you alluded to, proving he could make more shots - especially 3s - would go a long way.

I believe I saw that Brunson was one of the lowest-rated defensive guards in the entire league. But Thibs has to play Brunson big-time minutes because Brunson is so damn valuable on offense.

Not sure if TK can ever get to that level of offensive skill, but I wasn't surprised he was drafted and got a nice contract, and I won't be surprised if he's in the league for a long time.

Kolek is doing exactly what he can do to get more time, and thats being a playmaker on a team with multiple really good scorers.  He needs to shoot better, but he's also not getting a ton of looks/reps.  But if he continues to play and distribute like he is, that will come.  Can't ask for much more as a second round rookie under Thibs.

I mean, he was getting virtually no PT until NY suffered a rash of guard injuries. His playmaking ability couldn't get him off the bench.

I was talking more long-term. And I'll stick with what I said: It's a lot to ask for him to improve defensively because he is who he is, but we've all seen him become a better shooter. IMHO, over time,  improving that a lot will be his ticket to more PT.

I was told by people who have Marquette degrees that paid off and live with hot broads, Tyler wouldn't play in the NBA
