I disagreed with that, and was not going near a mRNA vax based on data and my own health history. Yet, I'm the moron? The mRNA vaccine technology is a truly revolutionary breakthrough.  It's going to be a huge part of the future of medicine. I read about their development in Discover magazine before COVID even came along.  COVID just presented the need and opportunity for mass application, but mRNA vaccines are incredibly versatile.


For cancer treatment, we're talking customized vaccines on the individual level that tell your immune system exactly what to look for and destroy.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.  There are endless possibilities, including potential treatments for HIV and other diseases.  Lucky for me, I have read a lot about mRNA vaccines for years and have always been very comfortable with them.  I look forward to seeing what else they can do in the future.

Correct, most people don't know that Cancer is a virus contained in your body that tricks your immune system into triggering mutations. HIV is a form of contagious Cancer.

Of course I did, I'm in the X-Men generation, probably like a 100 vaccines, played with liquid mercury from broken thermometers. Was in craploads of construction projects with asbestos. At the very end had extremely mild COVID case for a day. Only tested because my parents are over 80 and I visited them. I'm sure you had COVID but didn't even noticed thanks to all who vaxed and contained the mutations from going super virus. But I don't expect you to know how vaccines work. Oh, I didn't see your DOB, you're 4 yrs younger than me but sound older than my 80 yr old parents.

How is it possible you still don't understand it's not about stopping transmission but reducing severe illness and death, which the vaccines have been OBJECTIVELY proven to do?

Vaccines are not a guaranteed immunity. With a mutating disease, it's entirely possible to contract a mutated form, but the baseline changes to your immune system from a vaccine can still render your case less severe or even asymptomatic.

The more important reason for vaccines however is that personal choice should NEVER be a factor unless the individual is immunocompromised and cannot take vaccines. The vaccines are to create a societal barrier to the targeted illness. If you are young and healthy and refuse a vaccine, you're likely to survive, but the old and immunocompromised you interact with and pass the disease on to are more likely to have severe reactions or death.

Vaccines are how we largely eradicated smallpox, polio, measles, etc. They worked because it was a nationwide community effort that greatly diminished the ability for the diseases to spread. It also worked with Operation Warp Speed and COVID, which was the single greatest accomplishment of Donald Trump in his time as president.

Individual choice is why measles have come back and why measles cases are highest in anti-vax communities. It's why vaccine schedules should be mandatory for school enrollment and honestly for anyone wishing to interact with other members of the society.
