Uncle Rico

UNC, Virginia, FSU, Clemson and probably multiple others will never merge with the Big East.

Warrior_2002

Right good point Rico. For fun as it's being discussed by some big names but yeah I imagine there is more that would change first given the FSU and Clemson lawsuits. Most seem to think they need us more than we need them but not sure I buy that.

Correct.  You're looking at SEC or B1G schools there.

While we are making stuff up keep the Big East and keep the ACC.

The top half of all teams go to the Big East and the bottom half go to the ACC.

You then have relegations and demotions every year like soccer.  Bottom X number of Big East teams go to the ACC and the top X number of ACC teams go to the Big East.

Would screw up all other sports though.

I'm a fan of Chat GPT, but FSU in the West and SMU in the East?

I'm also a fan of nit-picking hypothetical ChatGPT answers in questions asked just for fun.  ;)

I like it Titan. And as far as other sports they can stay in their original conference. Similar to other sports it can be done like ND in Big Ten for hockey etc. This could
Be don't just for basketball.

I like the idea of something that isn't human making human decisions.

Then we can all sit sound on some pillows smoking weed and wondering why the world is occupied by idiots.

Hahaha well yeah I mean it was not so much a computer "making human decisions" but rather being efficient using auto logic and saving time typing it all out. 'Merica

No .....

Any idea what the new conference might be called The Big East ACC or any chance Stanford and Cal return to a conference somewhere west

MarquetteMike1977

Quote from: WhiteTrash on March 21, 2025, 12:20:46 PMA lot of talk this morning on Greenberg's show about a BE / ACC merger.

Is this thing becoming serious? The panelist on the show all said it "was a no brainer".

I'm not a fan but I can't ignore the smoke.

Feel Seth does not like The Big East

I could see something like a scheduling alliance, but I can't see a merger at all. Different television partners and very little upside revenue wise.

Now after these deals expire and the ACC grant of rights goes away? Yes, I could see a scenario if a bunch of schools leave for the other conferences that a merger may make sense. But now? Not really.

Was working out a couple years ago at Lifetime Fitness in Saint Louis and Tyler Hansbrough was at the Lifetime too.

Tyler Hansbrough is saying on the Pat McAfee Show now he would like a Big East ACC Merger.

Pat McAfee said they are saying the Big East will soon have more money than the football Schools for basketball and will return to the #1 basketball conference.

Seems like it's primarily ACC guys discussing/wanting the merger.

The Sultan

Why do we care what Tyler Hansbrough has to say about this?

I'm waiting to hear what Ja Rule has to say.

I'm also not sure I'd go to Greenberg or McAfee for news. They just get worked up on their own hot takes.

#UnleashSean

So could the big east take Duke, Unc, Louisville, and the domers (cause why not) and we give the acc depaul, butler, seton, and providence?

Cause that would actually be a crazy conference.

Is there a sport outside of basketball that the big east makes money in?
