Does TV deal have anything to do with that decision?  I think the Mountain West has one more year left on their deal with Fox.

Boise St is the best team in this bracket, then probably Villanova.  I wouldn't hate watching DePaul go on a run here.  It would be good for the conference for them to show out.

Right - And from the Boise State article:

all expenses for teams are paid and the players receive NIL money should they reach the semifinals and finals.

Each team in the semifinals receives $50,000 in NIL money to disperse amongst the players. That number goes up to $100,000 if you reach the finals and $300,000 if you win the tournament.

I wouldn't doubt the Boise state decision was 1) a FU to the NCAA, and 2) A feeling the players could make some $.

Ive always thought something like this is a good idea.  Great way for coaches to show commitment to players who choose to stay.  Good for young guys to get some run.  If it came down to it, I'd rather have MU in this than not playing.  Hope it never gets to this decision however!

It's clearly not the level of the S16, but I've had it on in the background yesterday and today.  I'm unclear why there seems to be vitrol/protest about giving these teams another chance to compete for $$.  And in Nova's case, get Dixon his record.

For me it's neither an occasion for vitriol or protest. I just have no interest in it.

teams like Duh Paul, and AZ ST. Teams that have fired their coaches....

I watched about 3 minutes.  Truly a farce. Playing in front of less people than a game between 2 bad JV HS teams.
The BE, B12 etc should kill this little experiment immediately

I'm a junky. I've watch pretty much all of it. The production has been great by FS1. 3 games have come down to the final shot. Nothing is going on this week in cbb, so why not!
