Reality sucks. It requires rationality, accountability, logic, and the ability to discriminate whether a statement has supporting evidence or a solid argument vs. BS.

You're such a wet blanket! Scoopers are having fun, and then you shove this in their faces.

I still believe Tre's best days at Marquette are in front of him. The shot needs work, but the finishing at the rim has greatly improved. Progress isn't linear, and I do expect him to spell pg at times next year.

While I understand that progress isn't linear, unlike with Zaide, I just don't see much to think that significant progress is going to occur here. At best I see him as a bench guy with a "defensive energy", and senior leader type of role. Think a lesser version of Stevie.

This is ridiculous.  Get rid of this thread entirely.

There is also now more flexibility for both the coach and the player with 15 scholarships.

Both Shaka and Tre are aware of his struggles.

If Tre is ok with staying and competing for playing time with Sean and Nigel I don't think Shaka will boot him.  If Tre believes his best opportunity for significant playing time elsewhere is to leave than that's what he will do.

But Tre staying won't stop the staff from building good teams.

Quote from: NCMUFan on March 16, 2025, 08:30:37 AMUnderstand the point, but when a Kam or Chase or Stevie comes out for Tre, hard to not take some type of a dip.  The game Tre got the taunting foul he looked really good.  The taunting foul kind of put a damper on things for him.  Hope he finds his mojo.  Can be a good one.  Built like a Butch Lee.  Good motor on the kid.
Please. I hope you are not comparing him to Butch Lee.

This is absolutely fake.

Though the notion that Tre transfers down the competition ladder is quite possible. It'll depend on what lower schools will offer him vs the balanced nil at mu.

If he starts next season, the comparisons will inevitably be to Derek Wilson.  However, with the ball handling and versatility at the other positions, perhaps a caretaker PG with size will be what that team needs.

Or he could transfer.  Best of luck either way.

He brings nothing to the table when he plays and there's a reason he gets very limited playing time. If he sticks around, his limited playing time will probably continue.

How exactly is he built like Butch Lee?  Lee was under 6'. Junior cadougan was built like Butch Lee.

Jay Bee,  what has caught your eye this year that you think he will start at point guard next year?  Is it Tre's handle, shot, passing ability or athleticism?  We know he can play defense and make some contested layups below the rim with his size so those are both positives, but starter?

Really curious as to what you see.  I know you Coach/watch AAU quite a bit from previous posts.  So I think you come from a good scouting background.  Would just be curious to see your breakdown.

I think he's just acknowledging the rumor that SJ might be transferring

Ah, that would make sense to me.  But if he saw more I would definitely be open to it.

Hoping Sean does not transfer.  I'd like at least one more going an MU uniform.  I wonder if Nigel is just that good?

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Tre moves down a level, but this thread is an absolute dumpster fire - not to mention an invitation for "fans" to pile on a young man who has given hundreds of hours of effort toward the program.
