It's mostly political now.
"It's not how white men fight." - Tucker Carlson

"Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism." - George Washington

Disagree, my anti-vaxx mom friends are granola.

The common thread between right wing and left wing anti-vaxxers is that they think their Google-fu is stronger than all reputable MD's coming to a consensus. Wild if you think about it.

I'll shift down one gear to "mostly political." But I admit I don't have data. Doesn't sound like others do, either. We all have lots of anecdotes.

If you're purely speaking to "new" anti-vaxxers with no similarities to historical?  Then maybe.

This, 100%.  Not to mention, before his political chameleon act, the people championing/following/aligning with RKF Jr's anti-vaxx stuff were not politically motivated right wingers.

And they both often have a unique predilection towards taking a reasonable data point/fact/anecdote about pediatric health and how it may relate to vaccines and extrapolating it into a full radical stance on vaccinations.

AKA "the medical industry can over-diagnose, and thus over-prescribe medications, kids early in their development".  To be honest, on its face, I don't necessarily disagree.  Ive known numerous people who had kids get diagnosed with things and medicated far too quickly.  But to then take that as a justification for writing off vaccines in the same vein is just spastic nonsense.

To continue my anecdote from yesterday, we are Florida residents, had a follow up pediatric visit for my 3 year old today.  His PCP, and majority of specialists, are all in the All Children's/Johns Hopkins group here, absolutely fantastic care and doctors across the board.

My wife asked his doctor about all the recent developments with vaccines and mandates (or lack thereof).  Doctor said that contrary to a lot of the reporting/rumors, it is more around the opt-outs and honestly serves more to limit some of the fighting and litigation around parents not wanting to vaccinate their kids but also send them to school.  She said they have a defined and comprehensive protocol tapping into the guidance/recommendations of a variety of governing bodies in pediatric medicine and it while its technically fluid, as all medicine is, its not very reactionary.  They are slightly more limited in what is "required" but they still can recommend or mandate whatever they like in their practice.
