Yep. Those 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists were awful as well.

How did he get two assists? We heard it on good authority that he NEVER passes.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Quote from: brewcity77 on March 01, 2025, 09:56:55 PMAbsolutely Kam. It was his on the basis of that one pass he whipped to Ben. Still don't know how he hit that angle with that much velocity.

Impossible. I've been informed that Kam is not a true PG.

He's definitely the stud of this game though

Hmm.  I did list him third as stog so I did value his points and rebounds.

He had 5 turnovers and almost all self inflicted with his dribble.  I value holding on to the ball.

He also took some ill advised three point shots.

He had a good game but not stog.  He has huge struggles when he dribbles into traffic.

As well as making plays to help stop the run.   The full Jop experience.

Antone who spends a mere 5 minutes post (any) game on scoop will be informed of Jop's weaknesses. The game threads are also great places to learn about what he does wrong. So listing him as your 3rd pick is valuing his points and rebounds? OK. Repeating his weaknesses here is a nice touch. But we all know that.

I just thought your post needed to be counterbalanced specifically for last night's game, as the thread is Hoyas STOG.

Edit: Did you notice Kam went 0-5 in 3s?

Daniel

Stevie for getting his jersey torn and wearing 33 as a result, which confuses the opponents.

Or Kam.  lol.  Kam yeah for sure

Couple TOs for Kam too. Only perfection is SoG worthy ... so none for this (or any) game.

That would be the game I was referencing.

I did notice Kam went 0-5.

Kam was the dominant force in the first half when we blew them out of the waters.

Its not like I said Jop was the worst player on the court. I thought he had a good game, but the turnovers when he is trying to dribble are hard to ignore. So shitty 3 point shooting by both being equal, my opinion is Kam was stog.  The passes and decision making by Kam were very good.

So let's just agree to disagree.

Are you talking about #33 Antone Ramsey? It's great that players like him are looking for nuggets on Scoop after the games.

Kam.

If Joplin took abuse it's terrible.  Shaka should never put him in a position to make decisions on offense or dribble on more than straight line drives.  Joplin has done a great job on defense, rebounds decently and is a great catch and shoot three point shooter, straight line driver, and has, gulp, the best mid range game on the team.

Minus the turnovers on things he should NEVER be doing, he is in the conversation for SOTG.  But Kam was completely indispensable this game.

And 2 assists. I usually do not vote because the Putin of Scoop, AKA Rocky, gives the STOG to whomever he wants to.  ;D

But....I really like your rationale. Along with Tower's vote, I believe my vote for Jop brings the total to 3. Rocky will probably pick Tre because he made 100% of his shots, got 2 rebounds and a steal.

Sultan,

Coaches put guard rails on players all the time.

"Jop, if you have the ball in the back court, get it to a guard". "Jop, if you have to make more than three dribbles and dribble into three players again on offense, you are coming out of the game".  "Jop, we love you but don't do more than you are asked".

Joplin has turnovers that can be seen way before they occur.  He has not gotten better at dribbling or decision making in four years.  He does many other things really well.  It's time to win big games. Not repeat the same mistakes over and over and over.  I love Jop when he does what he does well.  I have said what I think he does well. He is an asset to the team, even indispensable.  But those turnovers are going to cost this team in the tournament.  They are unforced and unnecessary.

I think these are things people THINK coaches say, but they really don't.

Anyway, he likely has less than ten games left in his career. He's not changing now.

Jop has some rough possessions but other than his shooting disappearing he isn't a problem.  I'm thankful for his defense and rebounding as well.

Shooter McGavin

Hey, it is what it is.  I'm only pointing out the obvious.  If you are not cringing when he handles the ball in a decision making capacity you are swimming in the Joplin deep end.

The only thing I don't like about Joplin is his dribbling.  His decision making lapses may be a product of not being a good ball handler. I really like everything else. Indispensable on this team. Needs to excel at the things he does well for the team to advance in the tournament.

Yeah if his shot was dropping at his career rate I think we'd see a lot of different opinions.
