Quote from: Billy Hoyle on March 05, 2026, 02:03:39 PMIt's not like the Bears are hurting at the WR spot either with Odunze and Burden, then you add Loveland and Kmet as tight ends, they are in good shape. That second rounded needs to be used on a O lineman.

Assuming they don't trade any picks for Crosby, I'd like to see them come away with an DT, Edge, OL, and Safety with their first 4 picks.  If they want to double-down on oline or dline with two of those picks, great.

Of course, all depends on who they lose and add in free agency.

Quote from: Pakuni on March 05, 2026, 01:41:02 PMRaiders insist they won't move Crosby without a Micah-like return. I doubt they get that, but if it's a team that'll be picking late, like the Bears, I think the price is two firsts, or a first, other picks and a young player (Austin Booker?).

Seahawks "insiders" (whatever that means) say the team is very interested in Crosby and have the picks/players to make the deal. I have no idea if this is true.

Interesting. They're not exactly brimming with draft capital. They have only their own picks in the first three rounds - all at the end of each round - and have neither their 4th or their 5th (traded for Rashid Shaheed). And they have just their own picks in 2027 as well.

As for players, the Raiders new coach obviously knows the roster. But the only high-end young players the Raiders might want are guys I couldn't imagine Seattle trading, i.e. Witherspoon, Cross, Zabel, Murphy, Emmanwori).
Wonder what they're thinking.

I would not count out the Seahawks, but that is literally the most generic, can't be disproved, statement/rumor ever.

Every single team has interest and the picks/players to make a deal.

I think overall the DJ Moore era was both whelming and underwhelming at the same time.

His best season was with Justin Fields, he'll be remembered for having one of the most memorable catches in franchise history.

He also completely took plays off, like in the middle of the play. He never really clicked with Caleb and I never thought Ben Johnson cared for him. I know they had to throw their 5th to sweeten the pot, but to get out of his contract and get a 2nd back is one of Poles better maneuvers.

I think Walker is going to get a lot of playing time next season, I think they're high on him as a number three wideout.

It'll interest me to see Odunze next season. This year was a big no bueno.

Third straight?   It's more like 8 straight off-season Super Bowl Champs...

Quote from: WhiteTrash on March 05, 2026, 02:20:59 PMHang tight, I have a good feeling the Bears will hang a third straight banner for winning the all important off-season.  ;D

I understand, I intentionally used the word "memorable" and not "greatest" or some undeserving adjective. It will be memorable, but in the proper context it only led to a division title (not a championship).

Some interesting data in The Athletic about how teams do when they pay their QBs huge money.

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7091240/2026/03/06/seattle-seahawks-super-bowl-roster-blueprint/?

Contrary to popular belief, a highly paid franchise quarterback has not been the shortcut to team success. Of the 10 highest-paid QBs in 2025, five made the playoffs, and four were on teams that finished below .500. Tua Tagovailoa became the first $50 million quarterback to ever get benched for performance.

It wasn't a one-year blip. Taking the 10 highest-paid quarterbacks each season since 2011 — when salary structures changed with the rookie wage scale — 65 made the playoffs, while 62 finished under .500 and missed the postseason. Of those, 18 advanced to a conference championship game and nine made the Super Bowl, with four winners.

Now, compare that to QBs whose annual salaries ranked in the 11-20 range: 61 made the playoffs, while 66 finished under .500 and missed the postseason. Eighteen made a conference title game, with nine advancing to the Super Bowl and six winning it.

Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show was the fourth-most watched ever in terms of live audience (128.2 million), but when accounting for YouTube and other digital platforms it drew a record 4.16 billion views globally in the first 24 hours after his performance. Hardly surprising given the Puerto Rican star has been Spotify's most-streamed artist in four of the past six years.

The Lions are cutting Taylor Decker; it will save them $17.9 million against the cap, only $3.1 million in dead money. Does Sewell move to LT, which he played in college, or do they look to free agency or the draft for a replacement?
