This Pats team is completely different from a decade ago.  I respected BB but couldn't stand him.  Same with Brady.  However, I really like Vrabel and Maye doesn't have anything to dislike about him.  But Pats fans are acting like they DESERVE this team and this season and another ring cause they've been through so much, like they served their penance for having a dynasty.  F that noise.

The replies from Pats' fans to Monson's tweet make me hope Seattle wins by a million. They make Ohio State fans seem likeable.

Quote from: wadesworld on February 06, 2026, 09:38:12 AMThe Eagles were 11-6 the year before Saquan got there and 14-3 and played in the Super Bowl the year before that.  They would've been just fine without Saquan.

The MVP goes to a QB because it's far and away the most important (valuable) position in football.

Look at the starting running backs for the Super Bowl winning teams in the last decade.  Yes, Saquan is one of the best running backs in the NFL.  But you otherwise have Isiah Pacheco x2, Cam Akers, Leonard Fournette, Damian Williams, Sony Michel, LeGarrette Blount x2 (for 2 different teams, and if you add in one extra year, he's x3), and CJ Anderson as the running backs for your Super Bowl champions.  It kind of shows the value of a running back might not be remotely close to what the value of a quarterback is when you compare that list to the QBs (Hurts and Foles being the worst, but then Mahommes x3, Stafford, Brady x3 and would be 4 if you extend it one more year, Manning).

I get you, but my view on Saquon for 2024 is that Philly completely melted down the season before: Sirianni was on thin ice, the OC was canned, and Hurts was a mediocre QB. Saquon came in and totally carried that team and hit the 2000-yard mark in only 16 games. Hurts isn't going to lead a team to a Super Bowl title. I don't think Philly would have been 14-3 without Saquon at RB.

Luke Kuechly becomes the second youngest player ever inducted into the Pro Football HOF.  Pretty wild considering the only youngest was Gale Sayers who was inducted 50 years ago into a very different caliber/amount of HOFers

MU82

Glad to see Kuechly get the call. Short career, but a dominant, difference-making warrior every single minute he played.

I think the HOF should be reserved for players who loved football enough to play through concussions

The Brett Favre wing?

Sure but until Vivek is elected they haven't found a way to commit Medicare fraud to get it funded.

OK, gotta make a prediction ...

Seahawks 24, Patriots 13

Enjoy the game, everybody!

Drake Maye gets hurt on the first play to fulfill the prophecy for the Seahawks

That throw should have been picked.

Pats playing like Darnold's due for a blowup game.

He's playing with fire.

Wow.  Wide open.

Two dumb cutesy plays by Seattle on offense.

Wanted to put some bets down but don't really love any of them I made. Hoping to hit though. #Pray

Seahawks -13.5

Maye >.05 pass yards / Kenneth Walker >69.5 rush yards

Barner >1.5 recs / Diggs >49.5 rec yards

Barner >25.5 rec yards / Maye >39.5 rush yards / Stevenson >4 rec targets

Darnold better get it together or we will see several interceptions.

Great defense and punting in the 1Q.  Maybe it's me but Maye looks a little less shaky.  Which is surprising.

MuggsyB

These QB's look terrified of the blitz.

#9 on Seattle is listed at 5"9? More like 5"7.

MuggsyB

Huge punt there.

This has easily been one of the least enjoyable viewing Super Bowls for a neutral viewer in a long time.  Defense has been good, sure, but there has been zero offensive execution and the play calling/strategy has been beyond conservative and tight.  Macdonald was playing for a FG from the moment they got the ball back on that last drive, short of them breaking a big run.

I'm good following the second half on my phone and watching something on Netflix that is enjoyable and holds my attention as opposed to 2 QBs getting blitzed into jitters and chucking incompletions.
