Schefter out there floating Harbaugh as a replacement for Lafleur. Can't say it doesn't make sense. Harbaugh probably doesn't want to go to a rebuilding team.

cheebs09

I don't think you can be scared to fire Lafleur. At least from my memory, him and McCarthy weren't sexy names when they were hired and both had a lot of success. I think if Harbaugh can bring in a good OC, we would be in good shape. The Special Teams would improve for sure.

GB Warrior

Really depends on the OC. You need to know you have the guy in-hand before offering.

I wouldn't be surprised if Monken is a package deal with Harbaugh, unless he gets a HC job.

Dish

I would welcome John Harbaugh in Green Bay.

This is the pts. GB gave up in the 1st half vs. the 2nd half against the Bears. Hafley is even worse at halftime adjustments than MLF.

Ben absolutely curb stomped Hafley in all 3 games. Time to clean house. This is a team that barely makes the playoffs- not a contender. MLF is an OC - not a HC.

46 to 9 in the 4th quarters alone

just like you think it's dumb to fire a guy who continues to choke away playoff games every single year.

John Harbaugh recently has had a two time NFL MVP as his quarterback. His playoff record with the MVP? 3-6.

The final decision of the Harbaugh era in Baltimore? Taking a knee on purpose for a two yard loss to try and set up a game winning field goal in Pittsburgh.

No coach is perfect, but there's been a lot left to be desired from the last few years of the Harbaugh era in Baltimore. Maybe he gets rejuvenated with a change of scenery, but Baltimore certainly made the right decision to let him go rather than run it back for another underwhelming season next year.

There are fair criticisms of Harbaugh, but this ain't it.
I mean, Lafleur has had a four-time MVP as his quarterback. His playoff record with that MVP? 1-3.

FWIW, Lamar has only eight career playoff starts. I think you're counting the Ravens' 2023 wild card loss to the Bengals here, but Tyler Huntley was their QB that day.

And what coach wouldn't have taken a knee to set up that field goal? I assume you're not suggesting that two yards made the difference in a kick that was nowhere close.

We will agree to disagree.

Timeout in your pocket. Outdoors at Pittsburgh. Rookie kicker. Derrick Henry and Lamar at your disposal. I'm sorry, I am not taking a two yard loss there. Even with the kick being missed poorly. I'm actually surprised you're arguing against that decision, but I digress.

wadesworld

I'd take Luke Fickell over MLF at this point. Give me Harbaugh. McDaniels. Don't really care. Some nerd came in and started calling out MLF, and MLF just shriveled up and took the beating.

Prior to that kick, Tyler Loop was perfect on the season from inside 50 yards. I don't think you risk a fumble, sack or penalty in that circumstance to pick up a few meaningless yards.
Downside > Upside.

GB Warrior

I have not seen the Ravens as an exhibit in competence over the past 5 years. Similar challenges as GB albeit on a much lesser scale.

Reasons to believe that Love is a different character than Lamar and not subject to his shortcomings, even if Lamar is the better down to down player (questionable at this exact point).

Harbaugh would undoubtedly be a better leader, but if his unwillingness to make changes is what led to his departure, well I've seen that before.

I don't want McDaniels as anything other than an OC. I would welcome other leader of men types if he or other OCs in that tree are a fit.

GB would be the premier opening in the past several years if it came open. There is zero reason to settle.

None of those other kicks from inside 50 were in Pittsburgh (notoriously a difficult stadium to kick in) with the pressure of the AFC North championship on the line.

You're certainly correct that he missed it poorly, no doubt. My view is as head coach, I'm doing what I can to put my guys in position to succeed in that moment (as much as possible). I get what you're saying on the risk, totally valid. Respectfully, we disagree, and I appreciate your perspective.

Matt LaFleur is a guy who cares about how his hair looks on the sideline and how Ben Johnson touches his back. In the words of Logan Roy, he is not a serious coach.

SoCalEagle

Rams at Bears next weekend.  That would be a great matchup and fun to watch.  Or, we go to Seattle for another shot at the Seahawks.  This NFL playoff stuff is fun.

Dish

I'm not sure what Buffalo should have done there. You don't want to take a knee to lose yardage, but you would have loved to lose no yards there and waste a down.

Dish

Didn't matter with the INT.

Really thought Jags would take it to the Bills. If not now for Josh Allen, I don't know when.

The fact that multiple offensive players can push the QB (or another teammate with the ball) forward as they did was Allen is a joke. Ban this sh*t, owners!
