Packers will be favored in Denver, IMO.

It will be minimal, though - 1 or 2 pts.

According to ESPN,  GB -1.5.  Well done.

Quote from: wadesworld on December 07, 2025, 07:24:24 PMThis is similar to when you said you'd be surprised if the Chiefs aren't in the Super Bowl. The Packers could definitely miss the Playoffs still.

I'd imagine they'll be road dogs against Denver and Chicago (though under a field goal probably). Should be probably a 4-6 point favorite home against Baltimore, but if they can lose to the Panthers at home they can lose to the Ravens at home, and at Minnesota should be a field goal or so favorite.

If they go 1-3 they could very easily miss the Playoffs. I don't expect they will go 1-3, but it wouldn't be that crazy.

Admittedly, when I made the statement I forgot to count one of the NFC North teams as in because of division champion, so it is not as possible to miss out as I had thought, but still possible.

Quote from: Pakuni on December 07, 2025, 06:58:28 PMSome weird ass clock management from Ben Johnson on that last drive.

The last minute of the game was so odd and such a let down for both Johnson and Williams.  Ben Johnson coached a HELL of a second half.  Bears looked DOA at halftime...offense anemic, defense playing tough but lacking any sort of extended hold and the secondary looking spotty.  But they came out a different team to start the 3rd and were answering every challenge the Packers were throwing.  And Johnson was calling a really solid game offensively.  But I have no clue what he was doing with the clock.  I loved how he managed it to the 2 min warning and shortly thereafter, then it just got weird.

As for Caleb.  Much will be made of that last throw, whether waiting to long to hit Kmet, not throwing to Moore (debatable if he had a true window/body alignment to hit him), or just the underthrow in general...and that is all totally fair.  But for as shaky and spotty he was in the first half, he was really great in the second.  Good decisions when to run or when to pass out of the pocket, managing the game well, and a couple of absurd throws.  The TD pass to Zaccheaus was filthy, but that toss on the run down the sideline to Kmet was unreal.

All in all, ugly game that turned into a super fun battle.  Fun to have both teams "good" at the same for the first time in a LONG time.

I thought Caleb looked good. Looked like a 2nd year guy at times, but definitely the best the Bears have had in a long time.

After the INT in the middle of the 1st quarter, I believe Love had a perfect QB rating. He has put himself in the MVP race.

Quote from: MuggsyB on December 07, 2025, 06:51:24 PMWilliams could have easily run for 1st down on 2 plays. Moore was also wide open on the 4th down.

At no point, while the ball was still in Caleb's hand, was Moore "wide open"

its all a moot point because the game was declared over 1 minute into the game.

CreightonWarrior

I think the Texans were all heavily intoxicated that last possession.

I'm looking forward to CJ Stroud lecturing Mahomes after the game. Maybe Pat can learn a few things.

I didn't have much of an issue with the clock management.

I would have run it on 4th down but it's easy to 2nd guess.

CreightonWarrior

Chiefs offense this year has essentially been do absolutely nothing and then all of a sudden Brown, Rice, or Worthy go off for a 45 yard gain.

I liked the call. It got a receiver open in the end zone.  Our young QB was late on the pass,  but a good call with under 30 seconds. IMO.

Bears have an uphill battle next week vs the browns with Williams being benched now

I love how Collingsworth called Hunt's TD run championship caliber despite them being .500 this season and him never winning a Super Bowl. It will be a dark day for him when Mahomes retires.

Actually,  released outright. Good move for cap management.

Clock management wasn't too bad. I think they should have sped up a bit, maybe 10 seconds, but the problem wasn't clock management. It was being stuffed on 3rd and 1.

Then came the chess. Johnson figured everyone expected a run, and he could catch them off guard with a roll out (chance to run for it, or hit an open receiver). MLF pretty much thought, they are going to try to catch us off guard with a roll out. Let's defend that.

MLF won the chess match at the end. If I'm Johnson, I go with the power run game. Don't try to catch anyone off guard, just win the game with your strength...power run.

Pakuni

Andy Reid, what are you doing?

Dish

I can't fire him, but Andy Reid has had a hell of a night (as have the Chiefs playmakers).

The worst part of it is I have a feeling Travis is going to be even more annoying in retirement.

Brutal decision to go for it from your own 30 when your defense is totally dominating the game.

That's valid but it appeared that the play call created an open receiver in the end zone that the QB threw to late. You could say that Johnson should account for having an inexperienced QB.

Williams had a good 2nd half.  He took my comments to heart until the final play. :)
