Still isn't over.  Still a cold, windy kick.

Gonna be a tough ride home for Bears fans.

it's not Brandon McManus

Quote from: wadesworld on January 11, 2026, 07:06:40 PMRams by 10. NFC West is good. NFC North goes to 1-5 in the last two postseasons, with the one win being two North teams playing each other.

Not by 10.  But yes.

HutchwasClutch

That was an instant classic.

Was drifting. If it had been a 50-yarder, it woulda been wide left.

Hell of an entertaining, successful season for the Bears.

Should be a great NFC championship

WhiteTrash

I think the Bears are more good than lucky. Future is bright.

Not that it might have mattered, but why not ice the kicker there? Absolutely nothing to lose.

This one won't go in the Ben Johnson hall of fame reel.

MU82

Am I misremembering, or did Ben Johnson say in the recent past that he'd always go for 2 in just the kind of situation that was present after the Kmet TD?

Bears had a great season, and Ben Johnson deserves much/most of the credit for that.
But he left six points on the field tonight.

Speaking of questionable coaching - Rams are driving with a mix of runs and short passes, needing only a FG to win, and McVay calls back-to-back 25-yard fade routes to tight ends. WTF? If Mevis misses that kick ...

Johnson is learning on the job. I thought some bad decisions would cost the Bears, and it did. Great season and excited for the future.

The first one, Stafford threw it where only his guy could get it. But the second one ... yikes! If 35 turns around, he intercepts it. Dopey call and not-ideal throw, but they got away with it.

I also thought when the Rams went uptempo in overtime, the Bears should have used their timeouts to slow the game down. The playoff overtime timeouts are all freebies, clock doesn't matter.

Ben Johnson realized who was calling 4th and short calls for the Bears

100% correct.

Why didn't the Bears go for two? They just pulled off an incredible play and had the Rams on their heels. Gotta go for two there, right? As a Rams fan, when the Bears lined up for an extra point I whispered to myself, Oh thank God.

The Bears were objectively awful in short yardage all night. They failed to convert on 3rd-and-1 twice and 4th-and-1 another time. And on a 3rd- and 4th- and goal from the 2 on their second-to-last possession of the fourth quarter.

Nagy was 12-4 as a rookie head coach. I think we would all agree that Johnson is a better HC, but next year will be a lot harder. A 1st place schedule and lots of tape for coaches to study.

A lot of 'what ifs' in the game for Bears' fans. Johnson will grow.
And hey, the Bears have a 1st round draft choice  ;)

From The Athletic, here's NFL rules analyst Walt Anderson on the controversial interception in the Bills-Broncos game:

"As the receiver's going to the ground, as soon as he hits the ground, the ball is immediately loose," Anderson said. "By definition, that would normally be an incomplete pass if it comes out and hits the ground.

"The reality here is the ball never hits the ground. The loose ball ends up being immediately in control by the defensive player, who then rolls over with the ball, and he maintains control of the ball."
