My son-in-law (a Canadian and former hockey player) and I were texting before that last shift. And I said that McDavid hadn't looked very good. Kept misplaying the puck.

But he buried that one.

I just watched his on-ice postgame interview, and McDavid said: "I was not very good all night. I struggled all night."

He's a tremendous athlete.  Insane speed and puck skills.  Probably already top 8 of all-time.

Yeah he was really blah all night. So was Eichel on the US side(hence the line change).

But McDavid did it when it mattered.
