TAMU, Knower of Ball

Starting the game thread early to share this stat nugget I found:

X is 11-1 when they win the turnover battle.

X is 0-6 when they lose the turnover battle.

MU has won the TO battle 16/17 games

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

MU is 16-1 in winning the TO battle

Most impressive thing is MU being 16-1 winning the TO battle

While only having a 15-2 record overall.

I'm going to guess it means we've won the turnover battle in 16 games, but it is worded confusingly.

Ahh yes. It is worded different then the other two stats.

I edited it to make the point a little more clear

I just checked X TO's from the last game. 14.

Love TAMU's post, but.... Freemantle is back.

I'm confident that we win. Just stirring up discussion here.

Like last game against X, I still really like the Jop matchup. They start 4 guards so he's a real nightmare for them.

Glad the away game is out of the way. We should win this handily.

Yep. Xavier could save their travel money if they have not left Cincy yet by simply forfeiting and enjoying a Saturday off.

I hope we have more planned that launch threes over the zone.

MUEng92

On the way home from work last night I was behind a car with multiple Xavier stickers.  We came up to a stop sign at a T intersection and instead of getting over to the left since they were making a left turn, they stayed in the center so I couldn't get by to make a right turn and had to wait a full extra minute.

I hope MU wins by 45 points because of that idiot.

It is tomorrow there.  Maybe he knows how the game went.

Quote from: Hards Alumni on January 17, 2025, 12:59:41 PMThat feels like way too much.

Xavier only has an 8 man rotation and 1 of the 8 played just 3 minutes in the last game.

Marquette lead Xavier by 15 with under 7 minutes left to play in Ohio.

I would rather talk about our winning the game rather than our 15-point lead with 7 minutes to go. Even after taking into consideration Stevie and Chase watching the lead blown while sitting on the bench.

But fair point. We had the W in our pocket-until we didn't. Home court this time, and maybe we get and hold a 15-point lead.  Hope Freemantle's return is not a big factor.

Road games are a lot different than home games.

Marquette should be a heavy favorite in this one, and they should win. The beauty of College Hoops is none of that means they will win, but they should.

Yep, and we just got taken to OT by DePaul.  And our bench scored zero points.  Xavier didn't zone much that game.

I guess we will see what happens tomorrow.

I would argue that we took DePaul to overtime, not the other way around, being that we trailed by 4 with 50 seconds left.

Even more of a reason to trust the home court in my eyes.
