Ha! Spot on Rocky. Before relatively nearby cell phone towers were built in our area, we were stuck with landline. Our phone line was often out. Why? Because the good'ole boys would shoot the pigeons off the phone wires with shotguns, stripping off the wires 'insulation as they shot the birds. They ain't Harvard material.

I think in the end this is going to end up being easily explained and many of those who claimed to see "drones" ended up seeing things that simply weren't drones. Or they were drones, but a lot of people have and use drones, so people are more aware of them. Similar to the psycological hysteria around UFOs back in the day.

I seriously doubt these are coordinated efforts by state actors though.

My money is on military and defense contractor related.  Developing new technology for asymmetrical warfare and surveillance.   Of course the powers that be cannot talk about it.

Simplest explanation, when you take into account money, observed behaviors of these drones, likely motivations, etc.
