Auburn hasn't historically had a ton of hoops success.  The right coach there matters a lot.  Color me skeptical they got the right coach.

VCU's Odum has an impressive resume' that made him UVA's target for HC. I think he will bring UVA back to being a frequently ranked team- just not this year.

When Pearl Jr.'s players enter the portal post-season, Shaka should pick up a couple of the bangers Muggsy wanted and also an aircraft carrier or two.

I don't think Auburn ever returns to the level that Pearl got them to in our lifetime.  I think they return much closer to their historical norms (eight NCAAT appearances in 30 years, 1984-2014 - when Pearl was hired). 

Big hit for the SEC, for sure.  Barnes and Calipari are closer to the end in the NIL era as well.

I don't think history means much of anything in college basketball today. It's about the $$$.
