I do not have problems with MU players leaving due to coaching changes.  Nature of the biz.    I moved on from the Hausers years ago.

I know Sam still considers Marquette as a special place and where his heart really is.  UVA was only a detour to keep his family intact.

hope the best for both of our guys, but I believe the Celtics are going to have their way in 5.  I don't think Kidd has an answer for kristaps and horford distracting from the combo of Tatum, brown and white.

I hope omax get's a little bit of pt

The Hauser's were correct. Wojo played hero ball and we suffered through 7 years because of it.

No doubt.  And it led to Shaka.  But he left.  I think if Sam showed some interest in MU again.  Came around the Al when the Celtics were in town.  Changed his introduction to MU from Virginia.  And generally spoke highly of MU then MU would reciprocate.  Right now he’s a non entity unfortunately.  Was truly set up to be an all time MU great.  He chose what was best for him and has not publicly acknowledged MU since.  There is simply nothing to acknowledge from MUs standpoint.

I still wonder how much of that was Wojo and how much was having a generational scoring talent. Yes, during Howard's time we had an average kenpom offensive rank of 16.5, which is pretty darn good (and three times in the top-15), but those other three years the average was 121.3, which is pretty darn bad.

Not looking for a huge Wojo discussion, but I think it's entirely plausible that all the good in his time here was propped up by Markus Howard.

It wasn't Markus.  Wojo was an offensive savant.  In fact, Nevada Smith learned everything he knew from watching Wojo's squads perform innovative offensive sets such as Wojo's favorite:  A step back 28 foot three less than 10 seconds into the shot clock and no other player on the team touching the ball other than the "point guard."

It's so odd that Shaka has taken a 100% opposite approach and coaches with a philosophy of passing is the number one energy generating behavior.

Omax. Have nothing against Sam, but I don’t consider him an MU guy anymore sadly. Many probably feel differently about these guys and times have indeed changed, but I also don’t really consider Cain or Theo MU guys either. Have to finish your career here otherwise it’s a bit awkward.

Did you or any MU friends get a masters from somewhere else than MU? If so then you or those friends aren't MU guys anymore either by your logic

So Joey wanted to go to MSU but didn’t want to upset his family and chose MU to play with his brother. Then Sam wanted to stay at MU but had to leave to “keep his family together.” Sounds like maybe Stephanie and Dave should let their children make decisions for themselves.

Yep. Jamal Cain and Theo John weren't in the same category of transfers as the Hausers and Odartey Blankson.

Again, all I'm asking is how is Marquette supposed to "acknowledge" Sam Hauser? And if they do owe him some form of acknowledgement, do they owe the same to Blankson or Haanif Cheatham or any of the guys run off by Buzz?

Who knew Scott Drew had such deep insight into what happens behind the scenes at MU.

Include him in their posts about their NBA guys, nothing more than that.  He is noticeably absent in those.  Seems like it would be beneficial to brag about more former players having success in the NBA than fewer.  It's fine that they don't, I understand the circumstances were different.  But, every time I see an MU post about former players in the NBA, I always think "man...what a shame we don't/can't claim Sam".

If Marquette included him on a list, I would have no problem with it. If Marquette continues to ignore him, I would have no problem with that, either. I never think about Sam Hauser unless I'm on Scoop.

Yep.  I never considered watching Markus Howard as suffering.  Quite the opposite.

Did I want more post season success, sure.  But, it was never dull.
