I stated that I think Crean is a good coach in just about all regards. I'm also on record as saying he's not a great coach in any category. Yet, he's been given control and compensated like a top 5 coach. I, then, expect more from him in all the pertinent categories. He does remind me of one of the front-running presidential candidates, though, in that he talks a lot, but says very little.
There is, of course, no right or wrong answer to this debate. Just as some like chicken and some like feathers.
My preference is Pearl's coaching to Crean's coaching.

Speaking of front running candidates, you didn't address the question.

Which of the 12 or so questions was he supposed to address?

I'm kind of jealous. He had what, 2 posts in this thread summing up to maybe 200 words and such a large number of responses.

Here, I'll be more clear:

Home come you refrained from speculation with Pearl (even though the end of his marriage didn't look too good), but jumped on Crean regarding the AD position because you think something is fishy.

Both are pure speculation on your behalf...

Why speculate on one coach and not the other?

That's it... that's my ONLY question.

I'm shocked that Marquette84 is here to explain and defend a decision by the university. Stunning, especially for somebody who isn't employed by Marquette.

I don't work for MU or know Cottingham personally.

But the mere fact that you don't like him means that he is probably a fantastic hire for Marquette.

You are as bizarre as ever. Where did I say I didn't like our AD? Get a freaking grip. Your paranoia is over the top.

augoman

to get back to the topic for a sec... I find it interesting that our Provost-now on 1 year sabbatical, was the 'acting provost' and head of the search committee for over a year, then, was 'convinced' to take the job herself.  (more interesting since we had never had a provost and didn't know we needed one).  Now the AD does the same thing.  Hmmmmm

Brutal man. Just brutal.

I've tried to give you every chance to provide some rationale to your point of view... and this is what you come up with?

I think this really speaks volumes about your view of MU and the current administration.

You dislike Crean to the point that it skews your view about everything related to MU athletics.

I'm really not sure what coach Crean has done to make you so bitter... but in the future, please link to this thread at the bottom of all of your critical posts so everybody can see where you stand.
