At least Markus went out silently without a tournament, instead of crapting the bed on national television as a prohibitive favorite

The Al McGuire rule means you cannot turn-down a NCAA tournament bid, but there is no rule about slipping-out at half-time.

I like you’re optimism. Hope we can turn it around. Not much else to say

Game is far from over, but they need to put the big boy pants on in the 2nd half. They’ve done it before. Need the big 3 and others need to get them the ball.

Face it sports fans. MU does not have the roster to compete at the elite level. And if they lose their big 2 they will be handing with GT.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

Entire returning team from last year and we are playing like we have never been here before. Actually, I do not think NC State is that good. Had we hit just 3 threes out of the ten missed, we'd be down 4.

When you are not hitting threes they can sag back and stop the cutting drives.

Dont forget the 5 free throws by the two chicken littles too

Oso scored first basket on the game.......19 minutes later.  Better get it going, anything.

Kolek has 14 of MU 24 points.  24 points and 2 assists.  Heck, Burns has 5 assists because they doubled him continually.  Barkley even just said the same thing.  MU doubling way too much.  Oh well.  Didn't take advantage of Horne on bench.

Joplin, don't get it, from a great game, to one of MU's NCAAT history's worse.  How does one miss three straight free throws.

Not over,  get Horne number 3 foul, make 60% of threes and make turnovers into points.

We are doubling too much but the bigger problem has been our offense.  24 points and frankly guys are not locked in.  You can't miss wide open dunks or free throws.  Or rebounds for that matter.  We're shockingly disjointed , tight, and lost complete focus once we started 0-6 from downtown.

Half time guys are shredding Shaka's defense about doubling the bug guy 18 feet from the basket.

As bad as we played, if we just made a couple more of those open threes and FTs and the dunk, we'd have been right there.

So I think we can come back.
definitely. Not an insurmountable deficit. Hit some shots and this thing will get interesting. btw, dumbass D strategy by Shaka, but I think we’ll get this turned around by the 10 minute mark.

yes........nc state played a good half, but really this is more about us being terrible than anything. first 4 of second half is gonna be ours.......nothing to lose here, couldn't have started any worse

Right now we have 1 guy who can shoot, one guy who can pass and one guy who can rebound- Kolek, Kolek and Kolek. Jop and Oso have been incredibly bad. Stevie, Kam and Chase bad and Ben and Kam invisible. To say they all look tight would be an understatement.

Shaka has to read them the riot act.

Shooting:

Overall 34.5%
Threes 15.4%
FT        25%

This team needs to get some balls and shoot with confidence now.

Might need Dwade to take one for the team

Threaten to pull back his donation and denounce his loyalty to the program if Joplin sees another minute.

I'm hoping we did a bunch of breathing exercises to get the team loosened up.

He's going to start the 2nd half and I wouldn't be surprised to say a play run for him.

Defense was fine. Offense was miserable. I wouldnt let anyone else shoot outside of Kam or Kolek. Drive to the hoop and make an attempt..they usually find a way to make them.

I am still expecting a win...........not winning this will go down as one of the biggest disappointments I can remember as a MU fan
