Right before the biggest game of 2024 too.  I had petty fights with my coworkers all afternoon thanks to this convenient outage .

As for the root cause investigation.  A reboot fixed it.  Need a new server this off-season.

Not true.  They initially brought us fentanyl before the "illegals" figured out how to smuggle it over the border for cheaper.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/mexican-drug-cartels-are-targeting-americas-last-great-place-rcna130822

Oops, not illegal.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9926615/
Quote
About 81% of the participants were aware that apart from benzodiazepines, fentanyl can also be used in combination with general anesthesia in dentistry. Only 59% of them were aware of the adverse effects of fentanyl. From the correlation between qualification of the participants and the knowledge of adverse effects of fentanyl, only 24% of the undergraduates were aware of them, whereas 35% of the postgraduates were aware. From the results, we can know that most of them were aware about the applications of fentanyl, but the area to be emphasized is the complete knowledge among the dental students regarding the drugs commonly used for anesthesia and analgesia in dentistry such as fentanyl.

When America sends its dentists, they're not sending their best. ... They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

Perhaps.  It is the only potential supervolcano in the contiguous US. And I'd only have a few hours to react (i.e. -drink all the good stuff).  But I don't watch TV (except, Marquette games)

According to the TV show, the murder rate is like 110%.  Either you help on a ranch or you die.  Basically, it’s like walking around Fiserv.  Either you die or die the next time you walk around it.  Very deadly

Side note .. the AI text requests were interesting.

The prompt was "write a 500 word essay on how sorry the admins are that muscoop.com was down today"

I asked Bard (Google) and Claude .. and they both roughly said "I apologize, but I should not write an essay posing as administrators expressing remorse... I have no basis to speak on their behalf. Impersonating real individuals or entities would be unethical."

WTF.  God, I hate these ethics guard-rails.

ChatGPT/CoPilot had no problems.

I’ve tried to go back and create more AI creative scoop stories and got the same (from AI thread).

It is hard to test the creativity of the tool now.  Then again I broke one of the AIs who tried to murder Rocky in every story because he wields so much power on MUScoop.

Was the overnight outage due to the old server once again crapping out, or was it the switch to the new server?

You joke... But only $300 more in ads (which nobody logged in ever sees...), and we've covered our costs for the year.

Old server.  I'll put some info up before switching, but we might be down for a few days when that happens.

Not so fast buddy.  It's a complicated economy.  Without all the inane content that drives a ridiculous number of clicks, it all falls apart.
