Oso was the best player on the floor in the first half and really looked good on O, D and the boards all game. 18 pts, 7 reb, 5 assists, 3 steals. Kam went inside at will and hit a couple 3s. 22-6-4.

But Kolek not only had a great statistical line, 21-5-11, he absolutely took over the game down the stretch. Just a dominant last 10 minutes after Nova tied it at 57. He didn't play poorly in the first half, either, he just shot really poorly from 3; his passing contributed greatly to Oso's scoring.

I disagree on the first half. Couple of rushed, weird decisions from him too. Going at a taller, athletic defender and airballing a fast break layup stands out.

But maybe I'm viewing his performance through a lens of high expectations.

Very tough.  The big three were all terrific today.   But have to go with TyKo

Great job by Shaka for getting this team refocused despite being down two key reserves. Got us away from launching contested threes and back to attacking at the rim.

Top 3 all came to play but I'd have to go with Kolek.  Nod to Stevie for great defense and a huge 3 when we needed it.

Could go many ways but Kam gets my vote today.  Really helped keep MU in the game while Villanova was hot from three in the first half.

What a game. I really want to go with Stevie as he fits my MO as it relates to the SOTG. However, I'm going with Tyler. He wasn't perfect, but man he made a lot of good plays, I saw a little of that spark again, saw some accountability, and saw some happiness. Well done, Tyler.

He slipped on the layup attempt and lost control of the ball.

5 assists, including some beauties to Oso; 2 steals; 6 points, including the huge layup at the buzzer; only 1 turnover; solid floor game, with the ball in his hands almost the entire half. He fired a couple real ugly 3s, but he otherwise wasn't anywhere close to "bad." And then he absolutely dominated the final 10 minutes of what had been a tie game.

TKs 3 pt shot looked bad

But the narrative that he didnt play well in the 1st half is wild

Kolek.  Not that I would object to Kam or Oso winning SOTG.  All three were worthy.

Let's not take for granted how much of a better point guard Tyler is because of a guy like Oso.

His ability to pick and roll/crash to the hoop and always be in the right position, as well as giving Tyler the space he needs to make the right pass and being on the same page, helped TyKo get half of his assists today.

Tyler is a maestro, but Oso is elite at what he does too.

If you're saying "sure, but anyone can dunk!"
Don't forget that one guy already transferred, another plays 0 minutes, Ben hasn't had one such play with a dish from TyKo etc etc.
A pg like Tyler needs a big like Oso, and I'd argue that Oso helped Tyler get back in the type of groove he needs to be in in a big way today.

Any of the big three are worthy choices, but I'd lean towards Kam. 8-8 from 2pt range, boards, assists, etc.

But you have to love what Stevie does for this team.

If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Oso is awesome. I think I've picked him for SoG more than any other player. He makes Kolek better for sure ... and vice versa.

Oso and Kolek are both irreplaceable players for us.

Kolek, Jones, Mitchell, and Oso are all deserving. Mitchell's D was huge.

Probably just a case of high expectations for him and my eye test failing me.

I thought Kam was great when others couldn't get a ton going.

Markusquette

Has to be Kolek. 11 assists with that scoring.

MarquetteMike1977

Honorable Mention to Zaide  Lowery for scoring 6 straight when we were down by 6 to tie it. But as Shaka called them according to the Television announcer the Big 3 for SOTG.

In retrospect, not my best choice of words. But the responses did make me smile, so I'll call that a win.

My feeling exactly.  I'd go Kam, but Oso and TK also great choices.
