Rebounds, turnovers, shooting

To sum up:    Stay within 12 on rebounding margin.     Win the turnover battle by at least 4.    Make one more 3 out of every 20 attempted.

Thanks for posting Tower.  Explains what we have been seeing the last couple years and why Shaka does not seem too concerned about out rebounding opponents.  Just need to keep it close.  Shooting seems to be more under the teams control with our personnel and I really believe will get better.  The turnover battle is the team’s forte and what Shaka emphasizes.  MU will be fine.

MU, with the 16th best defense, is top 5 in defensive time of possession (up there with Virginia). A lot of this the ball pressure our guards apply which causes opponents to start their offense 10-12 seconds into a typical half court possession. The downside is possessions are extended due to no rebounding as the defense is chasing.

Your greatest strength is your greatest weakness, and net, the overall defense has been great.  I like the advisement on the margin bands. Ying (turnovers wider), Yang (rebounds closer).
