Feels low, but with an o/u of 138.5 I can see that type of game. Still think this game is played on MUs terms and that they'll cover

I should have gotten my money in last night. DK has been having promotions most days where you can get a bet with a 50% bump to the odds. So I waited until today to bet. No boost and the line is now -6.0.

I took it anyway, of course.

Cronin is a really good coach so I think he will have them playing well at the end of the year once they develop together. However they haven't played anyone close to the caliber of Marquette yet.

Fair. But they also dominate the area Marquette sucks at: rebounding. I don't have a lot of confidence going into this--especially now that they are adding another 6'10" guy in BB to pair with Mara and Bona. They can largely pack it in in the paint to stop a lot of our drives. Gonna need a good shooting night out of our guys from 3.

To be honest, this is one week that I do not care one bit about the line on the games. This is the biggest week of regular season basketball in the history of the program, and I am beyond excited. I don't care how they look, win by 1 or 100 the next few games, just really hoping this is a defining week for the program.

IMO, a quick start of good shooting is more important than normal. Set the tone and control the tempo. This team always gets good looks and need to make them early.

With their size I just hope we don't get into early foul trouble. They don't seem to be a 3pt shooting team so I am sure they are going to exploit their size in the paint.

If, after suffering 3 straight home losses, we didn't go 2-0 at Wisconsin and at Virginia Tech in the next-to-last week of the 1976-77 season, Marquette wouldn't have even been invited to the NCAA tournament. So that was a pretty damn important regular-season week in the history of the program.

But I'm definitely on board with your actual point - these next 3 days are huge, and like you I'm also really stoked for it. And I'm feeling really good about winning this tournament.

You are correct on VaTech and Wisconsin, but that was for survival. That last two weeks of the '77 season was pressure packed and ultimately was part of the defining moment of the Al era. This week, due to structure and quality of opponents, makes it different. A big week here changes everything about how this program is viewed nationally.

Agree on your last sentence.  I think many fans who pay attention to college basketball this early in the season are waiting for this group to fail.  Not that they are checking scores daily or rooting for it but probably just expecting them to lose to a couple big boys this week and have CBB go back to the normal pecking order.  My Kentucky and IU friends are interested for sure after both lost this past week to Kansas and UConn respectively.

We win this week, there will be no doubt that MU is one of the favorites to win a title.  Which is what they respect.

Haven’t bet in a while, was confident at half with MU -1,5.

Had 500$ on it, paid 400$

Pushed it to 2 to pay 478$

That was a mistake, but it no matta, the dub mattas

I took the -1.5 at +114

Also had the -5.5 though so only won a bit of $.

But the win is all that matters.

Fortunately we were spared from the "exceptional outside shooting" of Berke. You would have been way off if Berke didn't have such a bad shooting night.

By far the best UCLA has played so far and got an out of body experience from Sebastian Mack. Did not expect them to stay with us at all. Definitely got this one wrong.
