The incomparable Lefty Driesell has passed away at the age of 92.  Built Maryland basketball into a powerhouse and won at Davidson, James Madison and Georgia State.
Kam and the Warriors blowing it just like at Dayton. Bet your heads out of your asses.

Best coach to never make a Final 4?  To be fair, some of his best teams played in an era of the 23-team tourney

He would have been perfect for DePaul.

Alas, another childhood hero.   RIP.

Elephant in the room about Drisell being Bias's cocaine death night after going 2 overall to Boston.  He never coached big time basketball again.

Not sure where the warm/fuzzies recalling his career are from.  He admitted to a grand jury investigating Bias's death telling one of his assistants to hide drug evidence from the dorm where Bias died.  That's a pretty sick person.

Also ran into a burning building as a bystander and saved 10 kids. Like most of us, he was flawed.

Obstruction of justice in your own player's death investigation is about as sick and immoral as it gets.  Let's not whitewash it as a flaw.

That's as "immoral as it gets?" Cause I can think of A LOT more immoral things that that.

That's a bit of a jump (whitewash). A grand jury refused to indict him on that charge, btw. Does that make it moral? Obviously not, nor should one ignore the good things he may have done like saving multiple lives. Do you consider "Schindler's List" a whitewash movie? One's life is flawed, and Lefty sure was.

Nobody's as bad as they were on their worst day or as good as they were on their best - but those who remember people on their best are a whole lot better than those who dwell on their worst.
