It's worth reiterating how freaking loaded this tournament will be come November.  It's very conceivable there will be 5 top 10 teams including us.  Considering that gym holds 3000 (?) Im not sure one could go to a better sporting event.

I don't know what to do Herman...it's really tough for me logistically because I have to be in Chi for Thanksgiving.  But it may be a once in a lifetime situation.

The Four Seasons is Wailea is one of my favorites but Ritz Kapaula is much more convienent for this trip.  However if budget is a concern (and it sounds like it is), I'd go Sheraton.  You can get in under $1800 daily.

The Westin, Hyatt, Marriott, are all.walking distance for able bodied people ir a short drive. Otherwise there are several other choices farther out.

Best Western then Royal Lahaina and a few others for budget options.

I have lodging at the Hyatt which is a perfect location. I haven't secured any game tickets and can't seem to find any information on how they might be secured. There are a few listed on sites for over $3000 per ticket. I assume there will be some availability at a later point. Any related information would be appreciated!

I (STH) inquired with the MU ticket office and was politely told to pound sand. Said they received a very small allotment.

I've never been, but I thought I remember reading the exact opposite. That it is extremely difficult to get tickets.

First round matchups for Maui announced:

https://collegehoops.today/rothstein-files/bracket-set-for-2023-maui-invitational/

Kansas vs Chaminade
Marquette vs UCLA
Tennessee vs Syracuse
Purdue vs Gonzaga

UCLA rumored to be landing a 7’3 Spanish center that shoots 3s and blocks everything and has potential to be the #1 pick in 2024 (Aday Mara)

Not sure if the two 4 team regions have been finalized or who we’d play next if we win/lose

I’ve heard that UCLA is rumored to be doomed. Plus they are evil and must be destroyed.

Judging from this, guessing at the seeds

1. Kansas
2. Tennessee
3. Purdue
4. Marquette
5. UCLA
6. Gonzaga
7. Syracuse
8. Chaminade

Do they actually seed this? Or just work with ESPN to bracket it for television match ups.

UCLA is a big question mark to me. They return Bona, but that's really about it from last year's key players. I would love a second-round matchup with Kansas.

No point in worrying about it.    That field is absolutely stacked, as we have known for some time.     Take an Izzo mindset.    Anybody, anywhere, and November/December games are about the process, not the outcome.

Lose to a mediocre UCLA team, play a non game vs Chaminade, followed by some team that got whipped in their first game… guess we hope for 1-1 with a so so win, a not good loss and an exhibition game.

It’s not about playing UCLA. Would have rather been on the other side of the bracket than Chaminade regardless of who we play first.

Not a big deal as I fully expect to win and play Kansas but that was my hope.
