MU +350 to win the East region.

Already mentioned in Vermont thread, MU opens -13.5 vs Vermont.

I'll be in Vegas next weekend. Any suggestions on best place to watch the games? Best sports book? Will definitely be laying some funds on MU to make the FF at +350, I like that bet.

I live in Las Vegas during the winter.  All of the good sports books will have HUGE minimums for March Madness if you want to actually hang out in the sports book.   It's their Super Bowl (pardon the expression).

If you are up for splurging, I recommend Circa.  That's where the Vegas Marquette alums watched the NMD game.  Hands down the newest, coolest sportsbook in Las Vegas.  You can even hang out in the pool while they broadcast the games on their 135-foot TV screen.
Have some patience, FFS.

Twenty five years ago, you could put a bathroom towel on a seat in the morning at MGM Grand to save it.  Now they charge a really stiff entry fees to watch and enjoy.
Thursday/Friday was a great time there, I did it for two years in row with friends. Times have changed.

Hahaha...I was in Vegas on conference tournament week in 2003, hope it's not a bad omen.
First time going on opening weekend of the real tournament. Going with a group of guys that go down every year, most of them are UW fans, so if there is a MU group getting together within walking distance of the strip, I'd probably be open to ditching the group.

So the other commenters who gave their good advice, that’s not good enough?  I mentioned conference championship week as being better, it’s by no means a shot at Tortuga, it was an opinion. Living rent free (still) in your head, you get all bent out of shape, I love it.

I've already got a wager in on MU -10.5....I think in the first half we might be a bit slow out of the gate....but then I think we can run them out of the gym with pressure defense, pick and rolls, cuts to the basket, & kick outs for 3.

MU has been sitting at -10.5 for the past day or so in the Vegas casinos.

O/U 144   (down from 145.5)
money line -600  (down from -650)

MU is 21-12-1 against the spread on the season.  17-16 vs. overs.

Any clue why the Marquette tournament champion future would be OFF on MGM? Guessing it's just an aberration, as I still see that line up on other books.

I was just at the Island Resort Casino in Michigan.
They had some proposition bets that I found interesting.
I bet that Duke would go father in NCAA tournament than Baylor. Hoping I lose this one early. My betting record on these kinds of bets is very poor. So, I figured I was jinxing Duke.
I bet the highest scoring game would be over 188.5. Iffy, but there are 63 games.
I bet that the lowest scoring game would be over 100.5.

Broke my rule and placed a bet on MU. But I did cut the line down, because MU seems to give up a lot of points at end of games.

I really like the SEC in all the coin flip games.  Missouri getting a point from Utah State is super appealing.  I also really like Arkansas, Auburn, and TX A&M giving a point or two.

Over the last 2-3 years I have made a killing the first round by betting the Under on the first halves.

Maryland and WVU gonna hit the under (62.5)

My Virginia furman is on the ropes early (60)

Hopeful that this is one of those games where Viriginia silences their critics a bit.

Thanks. Don’t know what it is. I always chalk it up to players not wanting to “lose the game” in the first half per say… but we’ll see cause now the Maryland comeback as you eluded to, might spike this bet.

Nothing will beat the 2021 tournament where first half unders were 15-1 on day 1 of the tournament that year (or something insane like that).

My son is in a calcutta and was saving money for MU but it turned out to be too expensive. (MU went for more than Kansas.) He ended up with UConn, Penn St., and the 4 lowest seeds in the South as a group. His low seed grouping has won 2 games so far so he's sitting pretty.

Calcuttas are super fun, and it’s funny how a random throw away team can save the game.  We got smoked on our big buys last year…but our 13-16 had St Peters which made an easily red year turn slightly green.  Similarly the first year we did it was the year Dayton made the E8 as an 11.  We tossed some leftover cash on them and between them and MSU, we had a really nice year.

The Round Robin ended up paying out at +200, which was nice, just missed on Wendell Green over 15.5 points (he had 15), which would have made for a great day.

For any late night degenerates, the one wager for tomorrow that caught my eye is the first half under at 67.5 in Providence/UK on FD at -112.

DK has the total at 66 at -110 for comparison. That’s enough of a delta to catch my eye.

I'll own up to my (probably) ill-advised parlay. I disregarded a few of my usual practices for betting, but DK was offering a bonus bet if I lost, so what the hell.

MU -10.5
OMax - 8+ points
Oso - 5+ points
Stevie - 2+ points
TyKo - 8+ assists
Kam - 2+ three pointers
Oso - 5+ rebounds

+600

I'm counting on MU pressing the size advantage and TyKo hitting OMax and Oso for a few of those assists. But I'm probably most worried about the assists and the spread. Fingers crossed.

I made two very large bets with FD.

MU (-10.5). That’s a winner
Kentucky (-4.5). I think the Cooley rumors are going to affect the team.

So, I am a push at least.

Degenerate, you're kicking ass. I took the Pitt ML and cashed it. Who do you like in the late games?

I'm leaning:

Kent State ML
Kentucky -4.5
Montana St. +8.5
FD seems awfully high at +23.5 so will put 1/2 unit on that

Providence/Kentucky under 143 on DK.

Montana State/Kansas State under 140 on DK.

First half unders in both too.

Whatever is wrong with the hoop in Greensboro, they’re still trying to fix it, only one team can warmup at a time. Clearly impacted Pitt/ISU as that particular rim apparently isn’t perfectly leveled.

SDSU ML
Alternate under 151.5 Mizzou/Princeton

+123 Parlay (not sexy, but plus money)

Any place taking bets for 2024? Seems like this would be the best time to buy MU low.

Kansas State +1.5 may be the easiest money I'll ever make

Was at a casino Thursday-Sunday. Ended up +1000 after betting about $200 per unit. But it took a hot day Sunday ending with a UConn/Creighton/TCU parlay to stay out of the red.

Tonight I have KSU ML and UConn -3.5. We’ll see how these go before I decide on the later games, but betting for mostly entertainment tonight.

Any strong feelings on the two late games? I like UCLA. Don’t have a strong lean either way on TENN/FAU

I picked Gonzaga to the Final Four because it seems like this is the 1st year in however long where people just kinda didn't talk about them.

I have no feel for a wager though.

I just don’t trust this Gonzaga team. Higher ceiling than UCLA IMO, especially without Clark, but more likely to have a dud performance too.

Edit - I’ll likely get in on Tennessee. Spread is dropping. Will grab at 4.5.

I parlayed that with Joey having two 3-pointers.

Hope you hedged some of that today - easy to do, especially when your team is the favorite.
