Jop - You've driven some of us Scoopers crazy this season.  I owe you (and Shaka) an apology for questioning the PT you've gotten.  I'm sorry.  Great game.  That is all.

He will tick us off again.   Today was awesome.

The offense was great but I thought he really shined on the defensive end as well. Great all around game. If he can keep this form we are in great shape.

He's really come a long ways. He was aggressive going after rebounds which helped the defense.

Gonna piggy back on this, well done young man. Loved his commitment and his entire attitude. Confidence begets confidence.

The HC stated he could one year lead the BE in scoring, enough for me.

Agree..he played really hard on the defensive end.  His catch and shoot without any thought is when he is at his best.  Stepped up huge today on a day we lost Kam.

Not true. I've been his biggest fan for awhile now

Happy for David.  Needed someone else to step up today and he answered the bell.  I know we expect perfection early from players but as we're learning with this staff, guys coming into college aren't perfect and can get better.  Maximizing the talent is what seperates programs.  David is another example of a player that is constantly getting better under Shaka.  I don't know what happened totally in Texas when Shaka was there.  Hats off to Shaka for coming to Marquette and doing the damn thing.  And kudos to his players for working and growing

I am on the Jop bandwagon

I believe Phil from Scrambled Eggs is driving that, so be careful.

NickelDimer

I get his scoring will rightfully be the lede, but seeing him play mistake free on both ends was equally impressive

Completely agree. He was excellent

Ellenson Guerrero

I've been hard on Jop all year because I think he's been a liability on defense and a dead end on offense. But nobody can argue with what he did today. Have yourself a day, kid!

On top of being a true scorer, Joplin has the scorer mentality, a very short memory. He has a very high ceiling and his best days are ahead of him. When he is on, it is a real treat to watch. So much so, that he overshadowed to Kolek, which is saying a lot.

I think I would take a hard pass on that, but he is going to be high impact college player.

This again^^^

I've said for a while now that when we get to the part of the season that matters most, the elimination game part, Jop will be a MASSIVE factor in if this Marquette team has a magical run.

At some point time things will inevitably get tough- the offense will stagnate and need a bucket bad when our opponent catches fire.

Shaka will call on Joplin for that bucket, and if Joplin makes Marquette will advance. If he doesn't it will be a lot harder.

I think Shaka knows that too. That's why he gets extra rope, for games like this, and games in March where a slower paced tough defensive opponent makes Marquette sweat

Appreciate this, Nrs. Maybe you shoulda written the Hausers' letter for them - ha!

Seriously, Joplin's not perfect (as is the case with all of us), and he'll drive some of us crazy again, but he's a talented kid and our coach knows him inside-out.

Oh, and Ben Gold got a couple decent little runs, too. Shaka's got this. Incredibly, he actually knows his players better than interwebs fan-board posters do.
