Thanksgiving 2022

First, that.    What great acting by Richard Sanders.

I am grateful I am looking down at the snow and not up at it.
I am grateful that I found a woman willing to put up with me for 30+ years.
I am grateful that I have been able to serve my community for nearly 33 years.
I am grateful that I am now retiring.
I am grateful for two smart, funny, resilient children who so far have shown no signs of Republicanism.   Ha.   Who work hard and understand serving others.
I am grateful for the familial chaos I will get to participate in on Thursday.    So many people.    So many conversations.  And I say a prayer for those who don't get that glorious chaos.
I am grateful for scoop.  Speaking of glorious chaos.
I am grateful for heroes who charge the gun.
I say a prayer for those who are mourning due to a recent loss of a loved one.    I pray that one day they can look back with love and remember all of the good that was in the person they lost without it reopening their broken heart.     And that God blesses them in their mourning.
I am grateful to those who protect us.   Be it the military, first responders, medical personnel.    Think of those working while you are enjoying your day.

Peace to all of you.    May you find a way to take some time and actually reflect on all that you have to be grateful for.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Keeping in the Tower Spirit:

I'm grateful for my Marquette education, which was a major catalyst in taking me to heights I never dreamed of, even while at Marquette.

I'm grateful I live in a country where JayBee and MU82 both can express their political and social feelings freely and openly, without a government thought police jailing either one.

I'm grateful this Thanksgiving the Iron Curtain rusted out just enough that we were able to get two wonderful children out and into our own country. The gift of American Citizenship is the gift that keeps on giving.

I'm grateful we have Shaka, but I sure wish he'd recruit someone who could hit a three when it mattered. I'm sure, in time, he will.

I'm actually grateful I'm old and in good health, for being my age means I was able to be on campus when our beloved Warriors won the National Championship.

Lastly, among other things, I'm thankful I live in the Sunshine State, where I'm going to start 2023 on the beach where it will be 77 degrees and sunny!

I too am grateful for our military and first responders, many of whom have given up their Thanksgiving so we can enjoy our's. Yeah, I complain when they write those goofy and unwarranted speeding tickets, but I'm grateful they are out there and can be counted on when they're needed.

Listening to my wife comment on the fresh fruit she is using for our fruit salad

I am grateful to live in a place and time that we have enough that we can comment on the quality of the fresh fruit.

I'm one of the luckiest people I know, so I'm grateful for everyone and everything in my life.

Including Scoop. Thanks, everyone, for all the MU hoops discussions -- and even for the non-hoops-talk shenanigans to which I sometimes contribute.
