OMax Prosper, Tyler Kolek, and the computers part II
« on: November 21, 2022, 09:59:25 PM »
New game, same result, a loss.

Let’s take these reverse order.

Computers first- it’s a wash.
Let’s not forget that Marquette got a 30/40 spot jump with a blowout of Providence at home last year. Ok that’s all for the glass half empty portion.

Tyler- id argue good game for him. Those shooting chops are worth a million for this years team.
The kid did not forget how to pass. Bad management game against a long and athletic squad, which he struggled with last year too.
That’s why, as I’ve said repeatedly, his 3P shot needs to fall to open up the game.
We got to see what Sean can offer because of it too.
TyKo, Sean, Stevie, Kam are a formidable guard rotation.
Need Kolek to keep hitting some shots and this years team will be ok.

OMax- no comment. (But here’s my comment)
Still the same guy, active and athletic engaged at times especially early.
Cmon Olivier, MU needs more from you to win.

Woulda been fine if Jop was just slightly on, or Oso was slightly better.

We weren’t fine, but overall I think this may have been a good game for the season with no harm done in the bill gates world

“This is gonna be a pretty big hot take, but this kinda seems to me like the type of game MU comes back to win, IF they can make a little run within half to keep it within 7 or so.

Marquette is obviously a streaky team and we are getting plenty of decent looks from 3, once one drops several probably will. Mississippi state isn’t an offensive juggernaut either.

Still, a pretty bad sign that the team goes so stagnant when shots aren’t falling”

Quite a bad look when you’re the first comment in tour own post, but it’s 2022.
If you haven’t liked your own Facebook post you haven’t lived.

That was my comment at the 10 minute mark of the first half, MU down 10 or so, and it was wrong.
Point stands that the easiest take on this MU team, and seemingly all Shaka teams, is that when the 3s are falling rainbows and butterflies, and when they aren’t Abilene Christian!

Went up in Kenpom despite the loss. We almost have a top 50 defense (57).  So there’s that.
