Tyler Kolek. His passing is amazing, and had they made open shots he might've had 20 assists. Honorable mention to the 23 for 23.

Joplin

(My heart wants to say Kolek because he plays the game like he's got an overhead view of the court)

But I'll say Joplin because if he's playing like that, Marquette has a chance to win just about any game.

Joplin had 23 points in 20 minutes. He was in control and he brought lots of energy. 8/12 from the floor, including 6/10 from 3 -- very impressive and efficient. 4 rebs, too. Fairly easy stud choice IMHO.

Kolek obviously had a good game, too. 11 assists and, as others have said, he'd have had many more if wide-open shots he created had been made. He also swished a couple catch-and-shoot 3s and had 5 boards. On the down side, he had 5 turnovers, but the pace was fast and he had the ball a lot. A solid second choice.

I thought he was a solid contender for SOTG.

Led the team in minutes, rebounds, steals, spearheaded the press and was the 2nd leading scorer.

Yet, until you, I don't even think he was mentioned.

Joplin didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but he did have an impressive scoring evening.  Also his first ever SOTG.

However, we need to get the MU photographer to get some good action shots of him.  Didn't see a single one of him with the ball from the past 2 games.

Uh.  No.

I checked Marquette's game photo galleries from the first two games, which had over 200 pics from both games.  None with Joplin holding or shooting a basketball.

Jop doesn't hold the ball long enough before launching.  MU needs to upgrade to higher speed film.
