Show me the money

I'll chip in $5 for every A on his report card.

The NCAA would probably put Marquette on probation for that. They so badly botched NIL that they're desperate to enforce something!

I see the Philosophy Department still grades the same as 40 years ago.

WOW!!!

Good scoring average and good classroom average in tough stuff.

I'd love to have him working for me after he's finished college and his basketball career.

I think most of us feel the same way!

Too bad Justin isn't more interested in receiving his degree. Basketball is only temporary. Education is forever.
He can get an MU degree for free anytime he wants
Goal is National Championship

NCAA rules now allow schools to pay student athletes up to $ 5,980 per year for academic achievement.  Last month UW-Madison announced that they were going to start doing this.  Haven't heard anything about MU starting such a program.  This would seem like a good thing for MU to help it's basketball recruiting a little bit - but maybe with Title IX, etc. they'd have to do it for all the non-revenue sports as well, making it too expensive for MU ?

Wouldn't have to do it for all non revenue sports. Don't even necessarily have to do it for women's sports though best practice would be to match.  I'd imagine that if MU did it,  they would at least match in women's basketball

Up to $5980 for "academic achievement"?  Does the school get to decide the payment threshold?  If so, I'm for: "hey kid, if you keep your grades high enough so you're eligible to play, we'll pay you the maximum amount allowed" for everyone on the roster, including walk-ons.

That was ironically funny.
