Good gracious.  Did I see that Joe Buck is the primary announcer for this tournament?

Ty Herman.  Maybe they didn't watch Buck's coverage of the USOpen on Fox?

DeCharcuterie has withdrawn from the PGA. Wrist still injured.

Guess his “second chance” will have to wait

i think this course needs some big hitters, it's LONG!  ( i know-that's what she said) so rotowire ranks the usual favs, so i'm going with JT, dusty coming off his big wedding being fired up.  hoping he didn't wear out the legs too badly :D the pit bull pat reed who loves a war, horsey, tringale and conners.  wanted to take kooch for his wisdom, but concerned about his length(i know i know...)

Looks like some low scoring today. Rory and Tiger off to good starts -3 and -2 after  5.

John Daly -2 after 10. Doubt if he can keep it up . Would be a good story if he posted a solid round.

Rory now -5 after 11
Tiger plus 2 after 11

Scores seem to be a bit higher now across the field.

How did he get Tiger to drink a bottle of Jack?

Guess Tiger wasn't as primed and ready to rock as the Big Cat Media wanted us to believe.

I’m NOT saying Tiger is faking being in some pain. But pain often seems worse for an athlete who’s not playing well, regardless of sport.

Tiger 🐯 appears to be miles away from legitimately being able to contend for anything. Which isn’t all that surprising given that he’s a relatively old man coming off a severe injury and trying to hang with younger, more talented golfers.

Hills are not his friend and it is right there in the name of the course.   If St. Andrews is an easier walk.

I’m sure that’s true. But the other guys still are better golfers IMHO.

But I guess he still has a chance to find lightning in a bottle, as he did in Augusta and as Phil did a year ago.

I agree.   His lightning in the bottle may have been the 2019 Masters.   He is still Tiger, though.

I remember watching golf in the 70's and rooting for Arnie because he was Arnie.

Well, he's still the person Tiger Woods. He is no longer the golfer Tiger Woods, not the one we remember anyway.

But again, it's not like he's a bum. He showed in the first round at Augusta last month that he can put together a very good round, so I'm not dismissing the possibility of him putting together 4 very good rounds. But to expect it would be silly (and I know you don't expect it). Even wishing for it is pretty silly, but we fans can be that way no matter who we're rooting for.

Will Koepka ever get healthy enough to contend?

The aura is gone.  Figjam outclassed him last year by slow playing him and we sleep on Brooks not winning Harding Park.  He’s got some scars now
