How good is Landman?  Obviously BBT is tremendous.

Its a Taylor Sheridan show, so its got the same feel as Yellowstone.  Compelling, funny at times, well researched deep cuts into the reality of the topic (oil and gas wildcatting in this case, as opposed to ranching), and a bit overwrought/corny at times.  But its tremendously entertaining and BBT is great.  The rest of the cast is very solid as well.

I actually like it more than Yellowstone, but not as much as Lioness.

Agree with everyone here on Pluribus. Glad I started it. Will probably dive into Slow Horses next. Just finished Shrinking. Apple quietly has a lot of really good options.

Watched the first two new Stranger Things episodes. Pretty much as expected: Easy-to-watch escapist theater.

Watched the first two episodes of Netflix's Death By Lightning. Interesting story, and surprised how much we laughed. Great cast: Michael Shannon, Matthew Macfadyen, Nick Offerman, Bradley Whitford, Betty Gilpin, Paula Malcomson, Shea Whigham. Every minute Macfadyen is on the screen is fantastic.

I will eventually watch it, but I couldn't have been less moved by the return of Stranger Things. Churning out 3 seasons in 3 years...and then taking 6 years to release the final 2 just takes all momentum away.  That is also not even speaking to the absurdity of the aging out of the main cast into the mid 20s while their characters are still young.  Actors in their 20s have been playing teens for decades but it's different when they were introduced to the world as young kids within the show and are not just playing teens in their 20s, but teens that can't even drive yet.

Totally agree about Death by Lightning. Entertaining and well done look at a fairly under the radar period in US history. Offerman was great at Chester Arthur and a pretty fantastic representation of what an curiosity his brief political rise was

yeah I've waited 14 years since the last season, I'm just going to wait until the whole last season is out to finish it.

Meanwhile ... Clare Danes is at her manic best and Matthew Rhys is as good as always in The Beast In Me on Netflix. I wouldn't call it a "great" show, but it's very watchable.

I don't really like how Clare (sic) has aged

How 'bout Claire?

As always, thanks for the correction. You forgot to put a period at the end of your sentence.

"which I finished minutes" is not proper sentence structure.

I watched a couple movies on my flights...

"Life of Chuck"...enjoyed it but bizarre. Based on a Stephen King short story. Some great performances, but just an odd way of story telling, confusing, and emotionally moving but also left you kind of puzzled unless you knew the premise going in.

"She Rides Shotgun"...holy hell was it an emotional gut punch.  Taron Egerton is a on a heater and, now that the Rocketman buzz faded, is back to being one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood.  So I'll watch whatever he's in, especially given that he executive producer.  My god as a father of a younger child, who I just left on a holiday for work travel, was I a mess.  Amazing anti-hero story, gripping crapshow of a plot despite it not being a wholly unique sort of storyline, and punctuated by Egerton's 12 year old co star, who was an unknown outside of some small part in a sitcom 5-6 years ago...may have had the best dramatic movie debut since Hailee Steinfeld in True Grit.  She was that amazing IMO

I also watched 30 min of Materialists and turned it off cause it was insufferable, even for a rom com

Among the young actors/actresses that get a lot of publicity, the one that stands out to me is Julia Garner.  She's truly outstanding and incredibly versatile.  I think she's in that super rare category of an actor that can easily navigate all genres.

She's awesome, I love her in Ozark. I find myself quoting her line, "I don't know s@%! about f#&@." Also thought she was great in The Americans.

Started watching Landman, I'm super into it. I'm not a huge BBT fan, but he is awesome, dare I say, almost endearing. Love the pace, the tension, the comic relief. Solid show, I'm three episodes in.

I just started Ozark.  It's sort of a version of Breaking Bad.  She completely steals every scene she is in.  You can tell immediately she's insanely good because she is the character. Her story is also rather remarkable. She couldn't read until she was 10 and had serious epilepsy.  Anyway, I think it's quite obvious that she's on a different level.
