Didn't love the last timeout. I'd rather have it for that very scenario when the play breaks down.

Complaining about the refs in this game is kinda weak. They called it both ways. Justin probably got fouled, and he probably fouled the guy while getting the rebound. Gotta finish.

This is a historically soft MU team.  Rebounding has been an issue from day one until now.

Providence denied the perimeter.  No one was open.  MU had a great chance to force OT and the ball simply didn't bounce through the hoop.  This was a performance to be proud of in a raucous road environment.

I'm with all this.  Refs didn't lose us the game.  Frustrating how inconsistent the 1H was from the 2H, but it was pretty even both ways.  When you don't crash the defensive glass, you put yourself in position to commit a lot of fouls.

I do agree that Morsell was the victim of the refs inconsistency more than any other player because of how physical he plays.  He also falls victim to refs' fetish for calling offensive fouls, particularly against a visiting team.

I agree with this...that was a terrible call.  DM was straight up and down..almost like the one they called on him against Aiken in Milwaukee.  I will say the refs did give us a questionable favorable call on the next possession that sent Justin to the FT line.

I totally agree with your entire commentary. I do think Greg should have been running to that empty corner...who knows.
It sucks as we had that game.

Every Big East team would have struggled to win at Providence today, and we almost stole one. Good things to come yet this season.

I feel strongly we are better than Providence and really let one get away.  But I'm trying to calm down.  The bottom line is MU will have every opportunity to seize a prime position in the BEast and a solid ncaa tournament seed.

You're right Marquette missed opportunities, but Providence got strong at home late and they earned the win, gotta give 'em credit.

I hear you Dr.V.  Although I do think better attention to detail should have been made when Watson got the ball at the rim.  Foul him hard.

They did.   He dunked any way.    Thick, where MU's bigs are thin.
