Tomorrow’s Line

It’s Seton Hall minus 3.5.  Marquette has been a Vegas bettor’s dream the last few weeks.  The Eagles keep getting points and they keep winning outright!

I erroneously thought a long winning streak would actually make us favored in a few of these games. D'oh!

I'm enjoying whuppin' teams as an underdog. This'll be another one.

Bulletin board.

If I’m Shaka they are hearing this loud and clear “you just won 6 in a row… and no one believes in you except ourselves.

I think the streak ends tomorrow. Staying away from this one.*

*May change if Aiken is ruled out.

If Aiken is out there offense will struggle for sure but we have to do WAY better on the glass. They just destroyed us in the first game. If they do that at home our offense better be on fire.

Yup. AIken out will kill their offense.

But it will also increase the chances they have more shots to actually rebound and more size out there to rebound.

So whether he plays or not, going to have to grab some boards.

The trend is your friend. MU defense will keep the streak alive. In addition, I think these guys are hungry for success and that is the intangible I felt they would this season. Building something is a lot of fun and they are just in the infant stages of building a program.

Seton Hall was already gassed playing St. John's for the second time in 3 days, going up against us as their third game in 5 days likely won't be an easier test. I've been eying this as a likely road win ever since they rescheduled the SJU game to this past Monday. This would be a good night to get back to some heavy backcourt pressure and playing up-tempo.

I'm seeing SHU at -5 now.  Might be a sign that Aiken is playing?

Is Aiken confirmed back, or are you just pontificating?

Just got MU +6.   Aiken playing helps Hall, but I don't think he puts up the same kind of efficiency/points against us tonight.  Was really surprised to see MU getting 6.

I haven't seen confirmation that he is back...number would say that but who knows. If he is back, then that number might grow to 7 or so.

The one thing that we have to thwart is them getting to the line like crazy.  We obviously have to rebound the basketball.  I also think we need to do a better job not forcing on Obiagu and taking the little floater or mid-range occasionally.  I'd like to pick up some fouls on the guy unlike the last game.  When we do attack use the shot fake, stay focused and balanced, go up with supreme force and power, and draw some freaking fouls.

We're ranked and Vegas underdogs; go figure.

Generally I see lines set based on the KenPom projection.  He has Seton Hall winning 75-71 in his model, so MU+4 is what I would expect...getting 6 is great.

Not surprised MU is the underdog on away game, but surprised the line is this big.  Is MU going to be missing a player that we don't know about yet?  Is Aiken is planning on giving all of starters concussions as payback?

I was expecting to see MU at +3.5 to 4.5. I'm surprised it's grown past that. I have been pretty vocal that I think winning streak ends tonight, but +6 is good value.

I’m with you guys, the various power rankings I like had the look ahead line on Monday morning at SH +3. The look ahead assumed Aiken in the lineup.

Does someone know something about someone(s) out for MU? This just seems odd, as I look right now MU is getting 6.5. Be interesting to follow, because even with Aiken back, +4 or better seems very interesting if no one is out.

That's the one thing I'm worried about. I did jump on MU when it got to +6. Seton Hall has had some really slow starts this year and usually improve as the game goes on. Could be an opportunity for a live hedge/middle if MU gets up big early.

Idk how there would be any info on our players.

The line opened at 3.5ish on most sites and appears to just be getting bet up by people. So unless every gambler knows more than we do about our roster

Favorable reffing crew? Especially with SH having whined so publicly after the tilt at Fiserv?
