When has that ever mattered?

Look at Braveheart.  Not much is historically accurate about that movie, not even the costumes.  Kilts weren't even a thing at that point in Scottish history.

Tom Hulce was fun in Animal House, another all-time great comedy ... but I don't think many who watched AH would have thought Hulce would go on to be such a prominent star in an iconic film like Amadeus. He was a deserved Oscar nominee, and F. Murray Abraham was a deserving Oscar winner.
