Her sharp wit, timing and her unique "wink and nod" naughtiness can be summed up for me in an interview she did with a tabloid about 2 months before her death:

INTERVIEWER: At age 99, is there anything you regret not having done in your long life??

MS WHITE: Yes. Robert Redford.

How can anyone not roar with approval at that response.
