Need those rebounds from Lewis. That's two in a row he should have had. Defensive has been great otherwise.

MUEng92

There should be a stat for balls that aren't really rebounds but "gaining possession after a missed shot" because Marquette has none and Illinois has all of them

NickelDimer

This looks so much more like Warrior basketball and I'm loving it
No Finish Line

jesmu84

Wasn't it a travel on the rebound off the missed FT? Guy caught it (over the back) of Lewis, then went all the way down to the floor.

PGsHeroes32

All things considered we are winning at half. Unreal.

Defense was incredible.

Gotta rebound second half cause I'll be the mortgage they don't have 15 TOs again.

Fun half.

Two good looks, unfortunate we couldn't knock one down.   Happy we're up 1 but frankly we should be up 10-14.  Absolutely must rebound the basketball.  Poor, poor, fundamentals.

Newsdreams

Impressed with D, very disappointed with rebounding, struggling on offense as expected. Overall satisfied and liking where we are at so far.

Afroman

Absolutely love the first-half effort.
Rebounding is atrocious.

PGsHeroes32

I expected the offense to be borderline brutal in November.

If come February it can get closer to passable. My optimism for the next couple years will sky rocket

This level of defense play will win us a lot more games than many here are expecting to.

MUeng

Some bad rebounding in spurts but holy damn, we're up at half. Keep the pressure up!

Fun half.

+1.  If we do not rebound the basketball we will get blown out.  Imperative because there is no way Illinois will kick the ball away 15 times the next 20 mins.

Amal Sh00k Up

Solid scrappy D.  Thrilled to be up 1.    The prettiest part of the game so far is Greg Elliott in the nearly Championship Blue suit!  Solid look.

DJO's Jaw

Still a ton to improve on, but a hell of a half all things considered

PGsHeroes32

We've all said it many times already

But I really wish Greg didn't do whatever he did.

Man his shot would be nice in a game like this

@Matt_Velazquez: Popped on Twitter, saw a few tweets about the Marquette game that made me assume they were losing handily, checked the score and saw they are leading the No. 10 team in the country at halftime. Never change, #mubb Twitter.

Love it

Justin Lewis not going pro anytime soon. Needs work.

Pleasantly surprised to be in the lead. Time to start drinking.

brewcity77

Great atmosphere. Lower bowl probably 95% full. Students are engaged. Very encouraged by this half. Though I'm guessing we'll get more than 8 minutes of Curbelo in the second.

ChitownSpaceForRent

I like Frazier, Cockburn is obviously a difference maker, but I've never understood everyone's obsession with Curbelo.

Adam Miller would have really helped this team had he stuck around.

Nice to see the true frosh getting chances and being put in positions to do things and get experience. Rarely happened under old regime which held back development and overall team success.
