Al’s Day
« on: March 04, 2023, 09:03:38 PM »
Todays game was also Al’s Day.

Here was the promotional video in honor of Al:

Like Al’s reference to violence kind of bridges the time span today and Shaka’s violence

The only mystery in life is why the Kamikaze Pilots wore helmets...

I had the same thought re: violence.  That video led me to this Al roast (featuring Ray Meyer, Butch, Billy Packer, and Digger) which I had not seen before.

Al was a very complex guy. He worked and lived on multiple levels.

Shaka recently quoted Al and his quote about filling up the corners. The corners were filled tonight and so were the SROs.

Perhaps no greater a sight was Shaka's daughter next to him tonight as he gave his post game speech. I cried. What an accomplishment for the Smart Family and what they give back to the community. And what a sacrifice.

Boom—sitting a few rows behind his daughter…great yo see Shaka find her and get her down there.
