I am probably much closer to college aged than you are, so that may be part of it. Regardless, what I said is definitely accurate, at least as it compares to the midwest.  Find out for yourself!

Let's ask your wife.  ;)

So we'll see Woj on the Duke bench, hey?

Oh, did he turn down NC to return to Duke?

A number of good self guided walking tours of Charleston.  A few years ago we rented a B&B across the bridge in Mt. Pleasant over New Years.  Did the walking tour and froze but had a great time.

Sweetgrass weaving would be a nice gift for the household that is pretty unique to the area.

To bad that Abilene Christian did not get invited to this tournament. Imagine Shaka finding out he was playing them in the first round again.

The same St. Bonaventure that didn't play a single P6 team until the NCAAT and then proceeded to get trounced by 15? That St. Bonaventure?

There is no such thing as the “P6.” I laugh when I see AAC teams with signs reading “P6” on yard markers and the goalpost pads during football games.

I use P6 to refer to the BE and the football P5.  Others on this board do the same.  So there is a such a thing even it is our limited universe.

Yep. That's the way I understand it. Maybe a new term for Scoop could be B6.

I sometimes use Power 5/Big East when referring to basketball leagues here, otherwise I use Power 5. I have noticed several people here use Power 6. I understand why. It isn't something I use. (I don't care what other people say or use.)

I’m going to stick with P6. If Billy doesn’t like it, well I don’t care.

Scoop isn't the only place it's used. I did a quick Google search, and it came up regularly on Bleacher Report, Reddit discussions and other fan message boards. Just as examples, here's one from the UVa hoops message board just a few days ago, another from a Reddit discussion last month, and one from an Arkansas hoops message board last year:

https://virginia.sportswar.com/mid/15324401/board/basketball/

https://www.reddit.com/r/CollegeBasketball/comments/lgzyad/best_conference_after_the_p6_the_aac_or_a10/

https://forums.wholehogsports.com/t/why-not-sec-vs-rest-of-p6-annual-challenge/34809

None of these is any more or less 'official' than our references here on Scoop, but they show that we aren't even close to the only ones who regularly use it.

The AAC in football is a distant 6th behind the top 5 conferences every season.

The Big East in basketball is 3rd-5th among the top 6 conferences every season.

Comparing the two doesn't really make sense.

Exactly. I resisted calling it the P6 for awhile. But then, year after year after year, the Big East was rated higher than 2-3 of the P5 leagues, and always above any non-P5 league.

So it simply made sense to say the BEast is part of the P6.

But sure, there is no such thing as the Power 6. Of course, in basketball, there's no such thing as the Power 5, either, as it's a reference to the football conferences.

Especiallly when you consider that 1-2 teams recently in the  Final Four each year do not come from those conferences.

Rosters far from settled but here's what T-Rank thinks of the field:

St. Bonaventure #19
Clemson: #47
West Virginia: #64
Ole Miss: #71
Marquette (w/ Garcia): #72
Boise State: #81
Temple #115
Elon: #146

No real dogs in the tournament, one clear favorite, and a bunch of other teams ranked fairly close to each other. Not a bad place for a young but promising team to get some experience in.

We can win this.
Winning is overrated. The only time it is really important is in surgery and war.
