I got a little joy from seeing Joey play poorly for MSU, but I was cheering for Sam.  He was one of my favorite MU players and deserved a better ending.

Not sure I'd call my 1 to 2 posts lifetime calling Theo a soft player is at all comparable to some of these sickos' obsession with the Hauser brothers.

Sure man. Yeah, 1 or 2 posts.

Logical inconsistency?

Like berating Theo while chastising others for berating the Hausers?

Yep ... Theo was another "unpaid kid" who gave 4 years of blood, sweat and tears to our alma mater and didn't deserve to be "berated" by an "adult keyboard warrior."

Not at all surprised which side of the fence you fall on here, Rocky.

Despite you trying your hardest.  There's very little (if any) berating adults in this thread.   But way to blow it up into arguments!

Pull the receipts.

And when you do, make sure to include the thread I started where I called him the most improved player Wojo ever coached.

maybe it was a photo shop but it looked like every player but sam was kneeling during the anthem

If true, good for him

Agreed. People are basically pointing out that they are no longer in the tournament and speculating about their uncertain futures. Yeah, many are also taking a little joy in the fact that they lost, but that's an awfully tame form of "berating."

Good for Sam standing, and good for his teammates kneeling. I am glad that all of them are peacefully exercising their freedoms as Americans.

Agree. They all have the right to stand or kneel as they choose.

But it makes for a funny pic, given the word on their practice shirts....

What a 48 hours!

THU: Joey Hauser is so bad he gets benched, and his favored Michigan State team loses.

FRI: Wojo gets fired, thank goodness.

SAT: Sam Hauser comes up small as his 4th-seeded team falls to a 13.

Incredible stretch for haters of both Wojo and the Hausers (and fans of schadenfreude). Each has won as many NCAA tournament games as Ners has!

It's a pic from Nov or Dec.  Here's an article about it, Bennett had the same "unity?" thought, and had the team talk about it:

Not at all, my friend. It really was quite a 48 hours given all the history at Marquette these last couple of years.

I'm glad the Hausers both lost, but only because I disliked the Hauser worshippers. People couldn't shut up about how brilliant the Hausers were for leaving.

Nothing against Sam and Joey personally.

The pic along with the story Rocky shared are just as relevant now as 6 months ago.

Notice that some of these people berating the Hausers leaving are also supporters of going after Shaka Khan? That would be a guy that also spurned MU. And also notice that some of these people have been Wojo slurpers.

In wee willie's world, supporting Marquette's coach is a character flaw, whilw not cheering for a couple of kids who bailed on Marquette is sacrilege.

shoothoops

It's interesting, I haven't posted one time this season on either board about either Hauser.

I don't have any animosity towards them. I don't have any animosity towards anyone else involved either. I don't have any joy in their recent results. I haven't actively rooted for or against them. I rooted for Marquette and therefore I rooted for their success while they were at Marquette.

I just haven't been interested or curious about how they have performed elsewhere. I haven't gone out of my way to watch their games. (i have seen them play here and there)

I understand that may be different for some others.

BallBoy

I feel like there are two camps here
1.  They left MU and were amazing.  It was all Wojo's fault and were God's gift to basketball. They left MU, kind of sucked elsewhere but we should take them back.
2.  They sucked at MU and continue to suck. No matter what they did at MU they sucked for leaving. Prior to leaving they didn't suck so I wish them the worst.

To me the Hausers represent Wojo's recruiting flaws. They aren't good enough to make the difference on a good team but not bad enough that you wouldn't want them.

My reading of the rules say that Sam is only eligible if he remains at Virginia. He gets a free year but no transferring. Joey is kind of weird because he burned his first year with a red shirt at Marquette but as long as he stays at Michigan State he should have possibly two more years, possibly even three more years

No. They can transfer but they count towards their new schools scholarship limit. If they stay,  they don't count
