They were still the underdogs in the old Big East hierarchy and once they became/supposed alphas, he bolted.  You need to take a long look at the man, what he’s said and done.

Why do you think he went on his media parade about Buzz’s Kids when he left Marquette?  Good press in case he got bad press.  He played a con on Marquette fans and the media so when he left, you couldn’t criticize him off a press tour like that.  He is very calculated in everything he does despite what he wants you to think.  Who do you think was leaking his interest in all those job openings the year before he left?

It was before that when he was leaking interest in other jobs (Arkansas, Oregon). And, he also kneecapped one of his own assistants who was up for another job when Buzz expressed his interest in the job when he was called as a reference.

Buzz was afraid of failure so he left for Virginia Tech? Not buying it.

How on earth did you get "Buzz was afraid of failure" from what I wrote?

I do think Buzz made some comments that he set expectations so high, that he wasn’t sure he could keep the fans happy while moving to an inferior conference. I think this was the CBS article where he said his summer goal was learning all the presidents in order or something ridiculous like that.

Video from this game of Davante Gardner being a second late on a three-quarter court shot to win the game:

Juan Anderson had only 5 minutes in that game, 1 missed FGA, and 1 foul.  In a 2 OT game! Buzz was a dolt.
Wow, common ground with Rocky and Rico

This is nonsense. To whatever degree there was a civil war within the administration, Buzz won it. His nemeses, i.e. Scott Pilarz and Larry Williams, had been ousted and Buzz again was king of the castle. He high-tailed it out of town anyhow at the first opportunity.

Buzz won the power struggle with Pilarz and Williams, but Cords didn't immediately give him the pre-Williams freedom he had enjoyed and wanted back. Buzz wanted everything to go back to normal, admin wanted to revisit things after the season. Buzz won, but he didn't immediately get all the glamorous prizes he expected and instead of waiting to see what the new landscape would look like, bailed for fresher pastures (and MU wasn't all that concerned about stopping him).

Bingo although there were bigger issues with the University that cost Wil-Larz their jobs.

Agreed. Closing Angelo's, Heggerty’s, and Marquette Gyros plus shutting down FFP were all much bigger and unexplainable issues.

Thanks a lot, Pilarz
Bring back FFP!!!

You have a problem with Bill Cords?
if it wasn’t Larry Williams, then my mistake
