Greg Elliott

If he stays healthy - or preferably, gets healthier - Greg can have a big role next season.

Given all he has been through, Greg has had a nice season. He's had some clunkers, sure, but he's also come up huge in some of our best wins - Creighton, St. John's, UNC. I'm seeing leadership skills emerge, and a lot more confidence. I find myself talking to the TV, saying: "Run a play to get Greg open at the arc." I WANT him to shoot. And he's even showing some ability to get to the rim. Even his D has improved.

I'm not talking about a 30 mpg starter next season. Ideally, he'd come off the bench to be our version of Vinny Johnson, our Microwave - several 3-5 minute stretches hitting 3s, stretching the floor, playing D, being a leader.

If DJ, Dawson and Justin return, Greg can be a very valuable role player on a team with 3 soph/junior standouts, a couple of talented freshmen and hopefully a good transfer or two.

Very proud of the young man for overcoming a lot of adversity and contributing to the program.

I watch these good games and a whole raft of 'might have beens' go through my head.  If he had been healthy all 4 years...

I like the way Greg is quite vocal on the bench/in huddles - it makes me think he has a greater role than you'd expect from hi minutes/output. No dis on Jamal, but we seem to start better with Greg.
What I have noticed is that, when off the ball, or returning to the defensive end after an MU possession, there is asymmetry in his gait. He seems to be able to hide it on drives or playing D, but he is favoring something. He's the guy I want at the line when we absolutely need a couple.

It seemed to me that both  Greg and Jamal hustled and put a great effort into defense last night.

I've also recently noticed Greg building a little rapport with the refs during dead ball situations.  He did it a couple times last night.  I like that.

Greg is always the heartbeat of the team. Love seeing him have success.

Love the guy. I'll always wonder what could've been without the injuries.

Love the Pistons reference MU82.

Vinnie "The Microwave" Johnson was a stud for a few years there. (And no, I'm not from Detroit or a Pistons fan.)

Greg already has shown similar ability (on a lower level, obviously) in several games. He's been very valuable this season and he seems like a great teammate. We need more of both next season.
