For those depressed about the men's team, watching the women's team is a terrific antidote.

I thoroughly enjoy women's basketball.   I would think it appeals to Muggsy and his love of weakside, off the ball movement.

Agreed.  That's a well coached group with a coach that understands strengths and weaknesses.  They have cohesion, play hard, and deserve a mot of credit after losing the prior coach.

If the men's team had a 16-4 record, I would be very happy with a single game that they won anyway with 12.5% behind the arc.

Great defense, sharing the ball, taking advantage of a shorthanded opponent.

I enjoyed the heck out of the game.   The Announcers said multiple times that Creighton was missing two starting guards.

Maybe that was an attempt to justify how a team, coming in on a winning streak, was getting doubled up on the scoreboard.

That game was essentially over early on.  The MU Ladies inside game was just dominating.
Even the tall girl from Denmark got some run at the end.

Marquette won 65-41. Believe announcers also said Creighton was missing 2 guards when they beat DePaul their previous game too but not sure. Good W MU Women’s NET is 37 today.

This thread is labeled as being about Women's Basketball - not sure why people feel the need to post a derogatory comment - just ignore the thread if you're not interested.

Awesome win at DePaul today - Go Marquette!!!

Yeah Creighton was missing those same players in their game at DePaul.  I thought the announcers spent way too much time making excuses for Creighton in this game and not giving Marquette enough credit in this game.  But the important thing was they got the W...

Will never say no to a second place finish in a conference with UCONN.

Duffy is one hell of a coach. Pretty amazing when you consider five 4 year starters graduated the year before she got here.

Yes and very nice to overtake DePaul for 2nd.  MU was picked to finish 3rd behind UCONN and DePaul in the preseason poll.

I think Duffy was a great hire but imagine she will draw a lot of interest from P5 schools soon enough.  I'm trying to enjoy it while she's here - it's out of of my control as to how long she stays at MU of course.

Gotta think between her and Keiger that the team will start getting some legit looks to improve as opposed to being a stepping stone. Plus adding UConn to us and Depaul makes the conference slightly more legit to a competitor right?

I don't think adding UCONN has helped the conference that much.  It's still basically a mid-major in Women's Basketball.  And while this season may be a little different than others due to Covid, the bottom of the conference this season is pretty bad.  Seton Hall and Villanova would be WNIT worthy in normal seasons (no idea if they're even hosting that this season) but truthfully the BE will be lucky to get 3 teams in the big dance.  UCONN and MU are locks in my opinion and DePaul is highly likely to make it but may be close to the bubble at this point.

Purdue is a school that may or may not part ways with their coach - once again the Big Ten would be a major upgrade to the Big East in Women's Basketball in my opinion.

I'm admittedly cynical but I just feel like MU will always be a stepping stone for Women's Basketball.  I feel like any good coaches won't be here long before moving onto a better conference.  I'd love to be wrong and see Duffy stay a long time and do great things with this program :).

This video was awesome - I thought Duffy might hurt herself doing the chest bumps though :) - https://twitter.com/MarquetteWBB/status/1364736073717407747

If Ivey doesn’t work out at Norte Dame, she could very well be an option for that gig as well.

Adding UConn should help recruiting in the long term.  "You get the opportunity to play against UConn twice a year and show your stuff."
