We still don’t.

Lol my point exactly. Straight from the mouth of Happy Gilmore, “gold, yellow, who gives a sh**”

I like the shoulders,  don't like the font. Waiting for the shorts to finalize opinion

Still don't like the font, but the shorts are fantastic. Overall, a very solid look.

I hear we're changing our nickname to The Yellow.

As for the unis, they're fine. I've seen better, I've seen worse. We'll get used to them ... and then have new unis to grade for the 2021-22 season.

Then they’ve always been yellow. And the Packers?  No longer green and gold.

The last (only?) time I remember really wearing blue and gold was 1977 (and maybe 78). Our white untucked tops had gold numbers and gold “MARQUETTE” outlined in baby blue. Our shorts were gold with thick white stripes outlined by thin baby blue stripes. Any pics of the national championship game should show them off nicely - they were sweet. Last 40 years (and probably 40 years before that) we’ve been blue and yellow.

My first head-coaching job, our colors were black and gold.

"Coach ... really ... that's yellow," one of the kids said.

My response: "No team wants to be called 'yellow.' That's another word for 'chicken.' We aren't chickens, are we?"

"No sir ... but that color is still yellow. It's really not even close to gold."

She wasn't wrong.

I think they're great.  Love the asymmetry.

The shorts might be a Tribute to the shorts we had during the O'Neil era. Weren't they whitish with diagonal navy blue?

The jersey itself still doesn't do it for me.

Not a fan. They look like a free give away to kids at a Marquette summer camp.

Not really a fan.  Least favorite since the Crean days.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

The shorts definitely make it better, but I’m not really a fan of the font or jerseys. Then again, I’m certainly not as hip as I used to be.

To me it’s gold in the same sense the Packers have gold. Everyone in the world knows it’s yellow, but gold just sounds cooler.

There is a point here. Outside of the light blues when they added the horizontal strips, the old jerseys never really grew on me. I guess we'll see about these

At my age, when something  grows on me it means a trip to the dermatologist for removal.

When I think of gold, I imagine something more like Purdue or Vanderbilt.
I have heard that called “Vegas Gold.”

some call that darker shade of gold old gold.   Or metallic gold.  49ers, Saints...

MU's colors are Navy Blue and Athletic Gold.  Those are the colors of the interlocked MU logo.

The sports teams also use variations of both the blue and the gold.   The gold variation of the current basketball jerseys is officially called Yellow C in the Pantone codes.

I tried that a year or so ago, but the dermatologist told me it was just the kind of benign growth people get when they become more 'mature.'

I told her she was a pretty poor judge of my character if she thought I was mature...and that I was fine if she acknowledged I was getting old.

The American flag placement perfectly sums up MU.

The flag was added after the 9/11 attacks and worn for the 01-02 and 02-03 season (which included the invasion of Iraq in March of 2003).  Then it was added back on for the 100th anniversary kits as a nod to those two Wade led NCAA teams.  Now that we move on to the next era of MU jerseys what do we do?  We keep the flag.   There is zero reason to have a US flag on our jersey (we play an all American schedule) all it does is clutter the jersey.  I don't get how this gets missed?

At least they moved AL down to the belt (I would be fine losing that too).  Just have the Jumpman and be done with it.

Al won a National Championship for MU. Nike/Jumpman just makes our uniforms.

I'd rather keep the part that makes us unique....

There's people that'd have an aneurism if we got rid of the American flag on there. Even though it's been taken off before, those people aren't known for their logic.

We have a building named after Al.
We have a court named after Al.
We have a night named after Al.

We do not in anyway need his name on our jerseys.  If Al was alive he'd be asking for some $$$ for the use of his name and likeness.
