It's 100% starting no question there.

If things go to complete crap this winter we will see what happens with that.

Yes, that is why the 2020 NCAA was canceled.

Way more uncertainty last year I can't see them possibly doing that again this year

That was not my point.  I agree with you.  Money  is always  a factor but not  the  only one. Money keeps these kids in school. Schools canceled the biggest money maker in favor of health.

I raised this point over summer, but - again - will the posters here that were adamant, defiant and combative against those who disagreed with them that we would not have sports again in 2020 come out and say that they were, in fact, wrong?

You must be new here.  Getting anyone to admit they were wrong about anything isn't worth the typing because it ain't happenin'.

There are sports.   No one can argue that it has been smooth or normal.   There are several college football games cancelled due to C19 this weekend.   Baseball teams quarantined.   Players dropping out of the US Open in golf and tennis.   Orgeron saying half his team has had the virus.

I hope it all works out.

I didn't think there would be college basketball this year and I'm glad that I was wrong. I really think TBT was a game-changer and think there's a very real possibility all of our non-con games come in a bubble. At least there's some marginal reason for optimism of a season now.

I'd give as much credit to MLB.  They showed you can get through a non bubble season which is critical.  I've said this before, if you have buy in from the players, it's almost easier in college than the pros.  You can cohort players, discourage socializing and keep them relatively safe.  MU implemented this last week with athletes.  Pro's all go home to separate homes with different family dynamics.  Unless you're Jimmy "Business Trip" Butler, you're going to be interacting with your family and everyone they interact with.
